Thanks for your reply. I have some feedback from our 2nd Tier Support. This is what they mentioned.
I checked our API logs for Toolset for the past two weeks and found no activity from the IP address 192.169.172.41 provided by the client, nor from the domain hidden link. This means our system has not received any requests from this website or IP.
Could you confirm why the client is trying to access the Toolset API? Has the client registered any Toolset plugins other than Types? Do they have a Toolset account?
I also checked our WAF and API activity for WPML for the past week and found no activity from either the IP or the domain.
Hosting provider support team came back to me with the following, please advise accordingly:
Hello Hadi,
Regarding the access to api.toolset.com, the reason for the attempt to load or connect is because, as per your request we whitelisted a list of subdomains and IPs provided for that plugin. One of them was api.toolset.com as we were whitelisting and allowing the access for them, the only one that did not return a successful result was this one.
However, if api.toolset.com requires to have a plugin or an account to be able to reach it, as we do not have it, it will not work from our side. Do you have issues with the plugin still? Do you have an toolset plugin or an account with them?
Thank you again for your patience. If you need any further assistance, feel free to contact us anytime!
Thanks for your reply. Since you’re only using the WPML plugin, a connection to api.toolset.com isn’t required.
However, I’m still encountering connection issues when trying to register the plugin, as shown in the attached screenshot. There don’t seem to be any blockages on our side, so I’m unsure how to proceed.
Could you try registering it on another server to see if it works?
Thanks for your reply. It's not about the sitekey. We cannot validate the sitekey since your Website cannot reach our activation server. I'm getting the same error as shown in the attached screenshot.
Provider got back to me with the following. Can you advise please?:
xI have reviewed all settings on hosting and there is no block, it seems the connection is timing out when trying to register. I have tested the curl in the hosting and is working fine.
Sometimes plugins can interfere one with others, have they tried to activate it with the rest of plugins deactivated? Also, I am seeing that this hosting plan that some of the resources where exhausted on the last 24h, it might be that your website might need more resources but try to do so with plugins disabled.
We are not seeing any block or any restriction, can they confirm what is trying to curl when it register?
Just that you know, I disabled all the plugins and tried to run the registration, I'm still getting the same error, so we can scratch that from our possible cause.
Thanks for your reply. Our 2nd Tier Support has confirmed that there are no connection requests coming from your website, which suggests the issue may be server-related. Could you try testing this on a different server or with a fresh WordPress installation to see if the problem persists?
Just to give you an update. I installed WPML on a fresh wordpress install, and the registration was a success! This was on another hosting package within GoDaddy, so we can now confirm the issue was not from them, as the registration and connecting to WPML servers was done without even asking the hosting provider to unblock anything.
However, as I have worked on the website (falconisconsultancy.com) already, I really do not have the time to re-work the whole thing again. I used the theme purchased from ThemeForest (LeRoux) and made a lot of customizations on it, and the only thing now left for me is to create the French translation of the website.
Does this mean I have to re-work the whole thing now?
Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear that you're able to register the plugin without issues on a new server. You don't have to rework the Website, and maybe you can migrate the entire site to this new server? Your hosting provider should be able to assist you further with this.
Further to my issue above, I need to ask if there is a possibility that the SSL certificate installed for my domain and hosting package may be stopping server requests reaching WPML servers to register the license.
Please advise at the earliest. I need to resolve this issue which has been lingering for almost a month now..
Because I'm trying to check everything and to identify what is causing the lack of connectivity from my hosting package over to your servers so that I can activate my license..
I have been struggling with this for the past month with no clear answer from anyone.
Kind regards
Hadi
