Background of the issue:
I am using WPML on my website hidden link. The website's original language is English, and it also has 2 additional languages. Previously, untranslated pages were redirected to the original English page. WPML is up to date.
Symptoms:
Untranslated pages have error ERR_too many redirects and are not opening at all.
Questions:
How can I resolve the ERR_too many redirects issue on untranslated pages?
Can this work? WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation, set the 'post' and 'page' post types to Translatable: use translation if available or fallback to default language
Now it is Translatable-only show translated items
2) Deactivate all plugins except WPML and String Translation.
3) Switch to a standard theme like 2024 or 2021.
4) Clear all cahces.
5) Resave permalinks.
6) Check for the issue if it still happens.
Thank you for your patiance while we are experiencing higher than normal wait times.
While waiting for one of my colleagues, please go to WPML->Settings->Post Types Translation, and set the 'post' and 'page' post types to Translatable: use translation if available or fallback to default language
Also, are you using a custom redirect rule? If yes please remove the redirect rule and just use the feature mentioned above.
set the 'post' and 'page' post types to Translatable: use translation if available or fallback to default language
did not help
I do not have a custom redirect rule.
Still need assistance. Thank you!
