Hello,

I have to update the plugin wpml on the website, but since we are using it we didn't change the settings to the actual url.

In the settings we still have hidden link as url but it is hidden link.

Can you tell me how I can change that, so that I can update the plugin?

Thank you

Regards Serena

Hi there,

If I understood correctly you moved the site to a different URL and now you can't update the WPML plugins. Is this correct?

Regards,
Carlos

Hi there,

Yes, you must change the URL in your WPML account and then you should de-register/register the site in the new URL.

None of the settings will be lost.

Note: Don't forget to create a full backup of the site before making any change. This is for security reasons.

Best regards,
Carlos

Hi Serena,

You need to follow this steps:
- Go to your wpml.org account -> Sites (same screen you attached here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/update-plugin-6/#post-4401555) -> Remove the site using the trash bin icon in the far right -> Then add the new URL of the new site.
- Go to your new site -> Plugins -> Add new -> Commercial tab -> De-register WPML -> Register WPML with the new key generated in the previous steps.

Regards,
Carlos

Hello Carlos,

Thank you for your reply,

Can you please check if I did it right?

It looks ok. But I still get the message: (The core plugin turns WordPress multilingual. It adds the basic translation controls and allows translating content.)

Do I still have to update the plugin?

Regards Serena

Hi Serena,

I'm sorry but I don't recognize the screen attached in your previous message. Could you describe the steps to see this screen?

Also, could you confirm that you added the new key in the new site?

Regards,
Carlos
