Our website (contrac.ca) went down and our IT team sent us the following error:

[pid 37484] [client 77.104.146.33:36346] Timeout waiting for output from CGI script /home/foremos6/public_html/contrac.ca/wp-cron.php, referer: hidden link

They were able to get the site back up but the issue came from wpml-media-translation and wpml-string-translation. They have deactivated the string translation at this time and inquired if there are any server-side changes you could recommend to avoid this happening again in the future.

Hello there,

Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'd be happy to assist you further on this issue.

Firstly, we recently released new versions of WPML plugins with fixes and improvements so could you please update the plugin to the latest version and let me know if this helps?

NOTE:

+ Make a backup (both files and database) for your site before updating/proceeding anything (Always a good practice!). You can use a plugin for this if you like. I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose. See: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks
