Hi,

We tried updating the WPML Multilingual CMS on a staging instance ( itmanager.staging.wpengine.com ) from 3.8.x to 4.3.x .

After the updates, both the front-end and wp-admin sites are displaying "The site is experiencing technical difficulties." .

Can you provide us details on how we can resolve this issue?

Hello there,

The error message is generic, The details about the issue will be available in the WordPress debug log and in the server error logs.

It would be good if you can provide me with the WordPress debug.log (not WPML debug information).

To enable it, open your wp-config.php file and look for define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);. Change it to:

define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );

In this case, the errors will be saved to a debug.log log file inside the /wp-content/ directory.

If you can paste your debug.log to pastebin.com and provide me that link it would be great! (This is the cleanest way because sometimes the logs are long and create a complete mess in the discussion).

I could only see warnings in the debug.log and It will not create such errors as you mentioned, did you tried to replicate the issue after adding the codes to the config file?

and the website not loading.
