Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

It will not stop working - so everything that was there (settings, translations, etc) will remain intact. However, if they don't register WPML on the website, they will lose official support and they will not be able to update any of the WPML plugins and various addons any more.

Even though, as you confirmed, that they are not your client anymore, it would be great if you could tell them about this and suggest that they register their own license - https://wpml.org/purchase/ - so that they can benefit from support when needed and plugin updates.

Regards,
Bruno Kos

Hi,

WPML plugin is not freely available for download (as plugins in official WordPress repository for example) and the only way they can get them is to purchase a subscription and download from their account.

However, even if the plugin is not registered anymore on their site, no features will be disabled as it is the case with various other WordPress plugins whose functionality depends on if they are registered or not. The only feature that will not work are updates, but these are very important because they address all the latest performance and compatibility issues, along with bug fixes and new features.

Regards,
Bruno Kos
