I am trying to:

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see:

the same featured image

Instead, I got:

different featured images

I have tried other solutions here - have changed theme and deactivated plugins - i have checked under wmpl settings - that in media the featuerd imagechoices are checked - in troubleshooting i cleared cahces and everything else - in woocommerce i ran troubleshooter and synced everything

site needs admin logged in to view

Any ideas? I am close ot having to go to the db and manually updating the thumbnail postmeta one by one - in the post table i see the image twice as an attachment.
All the images that are not updating share the same image - a placeholder we uploaded while the products were being photographed

We have had to manually update the products via the postmeta, but we are not confident this is a proper solution. Just we couldnt wait for a reply any longer

Please note that we have limited support during the weekend.

So I understand that by now you have manually fixed this issue in the DB.
Does the issue still occur when you create a new product?

We opened the ticket thursday afternoon, which isnt a weekend!
It seems like the issue resolved itself. We updated all product images and the translations seem to have taken the updates.

the issue persists - when duplicating products - the image doesnt update
- if you manually change the thumbnail in the postmeta , it reconnects the link and it works again
So something must be happening in duplication that doesnt occur in add product
I tihnk it should be looked at

Could you please tell me how I can see the issue on your site?
What are the steps that I need to take to duplicate a product and see this problem with the featured image?

AT present we dont have a product with the issue
The steps we took to reproduce the issue
Duplicate a product - change the english featured image
- expected result - both english and spanish show new featured image
- actual result - spanish shows original image from product duplication
resolution - manaully change the id in the postmeta table
thereafter product updates as expected

Hi and thanks for the extra details.

I've followed the steps that you have given me on my test site. I duplicated the product by pressing the 'Duplicate' button on the 'Language' section of the product editing screen. Please see the attached screenshot.
Is this how you duplicate a product?
On my test site, I couldn't replicate this issue like this.
If you create a new product and duplicate, it does the problem persist?
If you want me to try it, then please allow me to test it on your site.

Hi Itamar - how do i see your screenshot?
I am the developer not the Client - its the Client who is a non tech! User that does the Product entry. I will ask them how they are duplicating, its entirely posible this is where the issue lies - i am sure they just click duplicate under the product in quick edit - its certainly where i would if i was a user. If this is incorrect , i think it should be made clearer!

Perhaps you are failing to understand my issue completely.
The screenshot you show is before a translation is added.
Step one - DUPLICATE A PRODUCT - as per my screenshot (this creates a duplicated product in all languages)
Step two - change featured image in default language
This is the procedure we are investigating.
However i just tested and it functions as expected, so i will check with the client. I was just concerned that your message was totally off base indicating a failure to understand the issue being discussed. Please keep on hold till i have more info, its a bank holiday here so there wont be an update till monday.

Hi.

The 'Duplicate' that you show on your screenshot (Please see the attached screenshot) is not a 'Duplicate' option that is coming from WPML. This option is a WooCommerce, and its purpose is to duplicate a product to create a new product from another product. You can then change the content of the new product. But it can serve you as a starting point for a new product in case that the new product is very similar to the original product. So in the light of this, you should not expect that the product featured image that you change in the original product will also change in the 'duplicate' (bt WooCommerce option) product.
