We can't transform a forum ticket into a chat, sorry. I checked the Translation Editor server from our side, the ATE error log in WPML > Support and the WordPress debug.log. I didn't find anything relevant. |

Hi Laura the issue appears to be resolved on the dev site and I need to know the steps to fix it so that you can apply it to the production site? |

I told you what I did, there's nothing else I can share. If this doesn't happen on the prod site I need to access it, I can't suggest anything else except not using automatic translation and translate from WPML > Taxonomy Translation |

Hi Laura, so you are telling me that for last 14 days you have made no changes etc to the site at all? You have made any modifications, ran any plugins etc. |

Deactivating plugins etc has no relation to the issue. Only what I did *after* you reproduced the issue counts, and I told you what I did. |

Hi Laura I believe I have worked out the issue. It appears the issue is WPML will not translate correctly using the admin accounts that both the 2 main admins use myself included. I have created me a new admin account on the live site and have been able to get WPML to recreate the German product categories with formatting. It will not work with the original admin account however. |

It seems the admin users are not set as translators, at least in the dev site. Usually you have an error if non-translators try to translate in WPML > Support > ATE log but not in this case so I didn't notice. |

Ok well this seems to be the opposite as the original admins are translators but the new admin is not. Also on the dev site you have access to the account created for you is not set as a translator. |

It's possible that your users are somehow corrupted. If you want I can ask the devs if it's possible to investigate, as I'm not sure it's possible |

Yes please investigate. As I have been able to now recreate all the missing German product categories on live site and it is generally working better. Some of the missing translations like the info page has now worked as well. Other pages are still having some issues with some links ref our other ticket. New threads created by Laura and linked to this one are listed below: |

I split the ticket to investigate the user issue. Since the main problem here it's solved, I'm closing. |
