I am trying to:
Make WP Engine Content Performance Add-on work on my wpengine site.

I expected to see:
To work.
Instead, I got:

Error. "Because of WPML Rewrite Rule Filter"

This is what wpengine says:
It appears that what's causing part of the problem is the WPML Rewrite Rule Filter code that is extending our requests to validate your site by 10 seconds. This is what's causing the issue at hand. I would recommend reaching out to WPML to see about removing that function from running whenever a custom REST API endpoint is hit and that should help resolve the issues you're seeing. I was able to see this by enabling our Application Performance Monitoring solution which I've included a screenshot below.
