Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an issue with WPML where the URL slugs of my translated pages are automatically being translated without my intervention. I would like to manually define the URL slugs for each language, but WPML is overriding them with auto-translated versions. I am using WPML version 4.7.1 on WordPress version 6.7.2. I have followed all documentations published on wpml.org.

Symptoms:
WPML automatically translates the URL slugs, and I cannot prevent or override this behavior.

Questions:
How can I disable automatic slug translation in WPML?
How can I manually set URL slugs for each language in WPML?

Steps to Reproduce:
Create a page/post in the default language.
Define a custom slug for this page/post.
Translate the page/post into another language.

WPML automatically translates the URL slug instead of allowing manual input.

Expected Behavior: The plugin should allow me to manually define the translated URL slugs without automatic modifications.

I would appreciate any guidance on how to disable automatic slug translation and manually set them as needed.

Thank you for your support!

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

If you want more control, you can translate the slugs by yourself:

Go to WPML → Settings and scroll down to Translated documents options.
Under Page URL, choose the Translate option and save.

Then once you will translate the page, you will have option in WPML ATE editor to also add/edit page slug translation.

After changing this setting make sure to add small change to default language and save, then re-translate.

Regards,
Drazen
