This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
After upgrading to WordPress 7, the layout of the WPML classic translation editor is broken, with translation fields appearing below the original language instead of side by side.
Solution:
If you're experiencing this layout issue, we recommend updating your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.9.5. This update should resolve the layout problem. You can find the latest versions in your WPML account under My Account -> Downloads. If updates are not visible, try clicking the 'Check for updates' button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab. Remember to back up your database before updating.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket.

After upgrading to WordPress 7, the WPML classic translation editor layout is broken.
As you can see in the attacched screenshot, now the fields for translations are below the original language but they should be on the right, side by side.

I want to specify that I've encountered this problem on other sites as well, not just this one.

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

I have run several checks and determined that you haven't updated WPML yet.

Please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.9.5, to fix this issue.

You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions for updating can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

If you do not see the updates, you might need to click the Check for updates button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab.

Please remember to back up your database before you proceed.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

You're right, the plugins aren't updated to the latest version because the update wasn't showing up for me. It's showing up now after I clicked the “Check for updates” button. Next time, I'll try to remember to check that the plugin is actually updated to the latest version.

But before I update, I'd like to know: does this latest version fix the layout issue I reported?

Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback.

Normally, you do not need to manually click the “Check for updates” button. If you are not seeing the latest WPML updates yet, it is likely because we release new versions gradually rather than making them available to all users at once. Once the rollout reaches your site, the update notification will appear automatically on the Plugins page, just like updates for any other WordPress plugin.

If you need to force updates, click the “Check for updates” button.

But before I update, I'd like to know: does this latest version fix the layout issue I reported?

Yes, I have tested the issue and can confirm that the latest version includes the fix for the layout problem you reported.
