Background of the issue:
I am trying to configure WPML on my site hidden link. I want the main language to be 'beztrafice.fuchs.com', the English language to be 'welubricate.fuchs.com', and other languages like 'welubricate.fuchs.com/es' and 'welubricate.fuchs.com/de'.

Symptoms:
I am unsure if this configuration is possible with the WPML plugin.

Questions:
Is it possible to configure WPML to have different domains for different languages as described?
Can WPML support a multisite setup or any other solution to achieve this configuration?

Hi,

As I did not get an answer in the Chat, I moved it to this ticket.

It is not possible to do that with WPML.

You either can select a separate domain mode or the directory mode.

You can not mix and match them and it is not possible to achieve the thing you want via multi-site setup.

So you either need to have this mode:

domain.com
domain.com/en
domain.com/es

Or you have this mode:

domain.com
en.domain.com
es.domain.com

For more information regarding the separate domain mode:

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/

Thanks.
