I am trying to:
Use a directory for all languages (except home page).

URL of (my) website where problem appears:
Available upon request.

I expected to see:
I expect to have only 1 function URL for each page, even in default language.

Instead, I got:
I can access the URLs for the default language with or without the directory for the default language. For example, both URLs work (where fr is the default language)
hidden link
hidden link

Steps to duplicate the issue:

1) Install a fresh WordPress site
2) Set WPML, adding French as a second language
3) In URL format, choose:
3.1) Different language per directory
3.2) Use directory for default language
3.3) Root url choose "use a root page"
3.4) Do not choose to hide the language switcher on root page
4) Change de default language to French

Create a couple pages in French and English. For example, I create one called Ma page, slug is ma-page. I can now visit "Ma page" at 2 URLs:

1) hidden link
2) hidden link

Let me know if you need more information. I can reproduce this on a fresh install with default WordPress theme, and no other plugins except WPML. This appears to be a bug.

Thank you! Any idea about when this will be resolved? Hours? Days? Weeks? Months? Years?

Is there any known work-around? I have this problem on a production site.

Hello,

this is the answer I received from the 2nd Tier support.

I've discussed this issue with our third tier support members and they will further check it with our developers soon. However, we already have a similar issue escalated already in our reporting system and developers are looking into it.

At this point, as a workaround I would suggest you to use any redirection plugin and to set redirection from Old to New URLs, this can help you to avoid any possible SEO related problems.

I will keep you posted once I've any news over the issue.

Regards,
Vincenzo
