I am trying to:
As we want to optimize the page speed of our websites we recognized that with the activation of the WPML plugins the page slows down approximately 1 second.

We would like to if there are possibilities to improve the performance when the plugins are activated.

We are constantly looking trying to make performance improvements to our plugin (as you can see in the changelog). However, if you want to go a step further, you can check this article: We collected a list of plugins and best practices that will make your website run a bit faster, even when having it multilingual. You can have a look, give some of the tips a try, and see how things work.
