Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate an Italian post from English using the WPML translation editor. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
The WPML translation editor auto-translates as expected, but the 'complete' button spins endlessly. The original English text is still showing, and I have wasted credits.
Questions:
Why does the 'complete' button spin endlessly?
How can I ensure the page is translated into Italian?
Thanks for your reply. I can see the error on my side too. Could you please make minor edits to the primary language page and resend the page for translation again?
If the issue continues, I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve checked and I’m experiencing a lot of timeouts, as shown in the attached screenshot. I believe this is preventing the translations from completing, as the system is unable to open the translated page after the translation process. Could you check with your hosting provider to see what's causing the issue with the Website?
This is a problem.
The server is already upgraded for this reason because WPML really struggles to save all our duplicated pages within Cloudflares set timeout. We are unable to change Cloudflares timeout. Before we started useing WPML advanced editor, WordPress was still able to process everything in the background even with a timeout. You seem to suggest that the new editor needs to access the page afterwards to complete it.
It seems the only solution is to change our hardware stack. Do you have any other recommendations?
Thanks for your reply. I believe this issue might be caused by another plugin. Could you please create a backup, then try deactivating all third-party plugins? After that, try resaving the pages and see if the issue persists.
Thanks for your reply. Do you have another test site that I could use to test this? I would like to deactivate most of the 3rd party plugins to troubleshoot this further. Or can I perform this on your production site?
You can do some testing on the staging site. It was last synced a few months ago.
The problem is most articels translate fine except for this one. So I'm not sure you wil be able to reproduce it easily. Send me the credential request if you want to test the staging site. Thanks again.
Thanks for your reply. I've checked and I'm able to complete a translation as shown in this screen recording hidden link . If you refer near the end of the video, I've removed the "Duplication" of the page by clicking on the "Translate Independently" button. Could you give this a try and let me know if this works for you?
