Hello,

I'm Alejandro, Team Leader of our support team. I'd like to ask further information about your issue to speed things up when a supporter takes your ticket.

I can't see much difference on the screenshots you took, they all seem to be from the same language and seem to not show differences (apart from the position where it was taken)

Could you tell me exactly what problem are you encountering?

Is the problem that nothing happens when you press the "+" icon (i.e add translation)?

In the meantime i suggest you update your plugin to version 4.3.1 and all the most recent versions of our WPML add-ons since we added some fixes and maybe one of them will fix your issue.

Regards.

Yes Alejandro.

Looking to the problem: nothing happens when I press the "+" icon (that is, add translation). I've tried to resolve and, update de version 4.3.1. but i could not update, because different than I was expecting, beside this problem, this happens:

+ Ocorreu um erro ao atualizar WPML Multilingual CMS: O pacote não pôde ser instalado. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

+ Ocorreu um erro ao atualizar WPML String Translation: O pacote não pôde ser instalado. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

So, now is becoming worst!

Please help!

Hi and thank you for contacting WPML Support!

I will be happy to help you with this.

From what I see, you have an issue with updating the WPML plugins.

1. To solve the issue with the plugins-update process, can you please follow the steps in the solution from this ticket (https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpmls-classic-translation-editor-doesnt-allow-translating-any-content/) and see if the content-translation issue gets resolved after you update our plugins to the latest version?

2. Also, from what I can see, you are working on a local environment so can you please check if the settings are following the WPML-requirements listed here (https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/)?

3. Something else you can try is to disable all the other plugins and leave only the WPML plugins enabled - after that's done, please see if you still have an issue when you click on the "+"

4. Something else you can try is to move your current environment on a live server and then see if anything changes in the behaviour.

Please let me know how that goes.

I will be waiting for your response.

Kind regards,
Mihai Apetrei

1. It's the same page. Are you telling me this because you maybe have send me an email to link to this page, does it right?

2. Yes, i'm working at local environment, for sure. But, what problably should not the problem here, but despite this i presume to attend to all this requirements. See at a minimum, my setting are:

- WordPress 3.9 or later: My WordPress version is 5.2.4

- PHP 5.6 or above with memory limit of at least 128MB while 256MB is recommended (see WP memory settings). Keep in mind that the required memory for your site depends on your content, theme and all plugins: https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#increasing-memory-allocated-to-php

- MySQL 5.6 or above: I’m using earlier versions of PHP to 7.3 and MySQL

- That you can create tables in your database: Yes, i think i can do it

- Multibyte String extension for using WPML String Translation: wip -> Looking for these:
⁃ I have checked this out, but i supossed it should be enable on my php version: hidden link

- SimpleXML extension for using XLIFF files in WPML Translation Management:
⁃ I have checked this out, but i supossed it should be enable on my php version hidden link

- The eval() PHP function should be enabled on PHP. More about this in the section about eval().

3. I did it. the + works but i cannot find content to my front-page.php (that resides in my Travel Agency Pro Child Theme). I only can see a title or the content from another files, like: single-page.php and, posts or pages.

4. Serious, so i cannot work at localhost to do some plugin upgrade!?

Hi.

I am not sure what you mean at point 1 with the question "Are you telling me this because you maybe have send me an email to link to this page, does it right?". Can you please elaborate a bit more?

I am also glad to see that you managed to get the "+" link working - now, regarding the new issue where you don't see anything on the front page, it is pretty hard for me to guess where this comes from if I have no access to the site.

Can you please let me know if the same thing happens when you are using a WP default theme or the main (not child) version of the current theme that you are using?

Please let me know.

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi.

My point is very simple. You send a message on this treath with url link that if i click on it, it opens e shows our current ticket... this is typicall when you send a email message to some one with a ticket that is open on a forum or FAQ, in that ocasion is has been done just to redirect user straight for the link ...is it right?

So, my comment is just to let me know if i am right about my conclusion.

Then, let's talk about what is working or not... child or parent theme? that's the question now!

So, i have started to work with a Parent theme, not a child theme. Despite this, the translations process at parent theme does not work at my front - home page, after this, i have tested on my child theme and, for my surprise, it still not working, because i don't see any content.

I was thinking if it could be happens because my theme works with a "customizer" that it's taking in action when i need to change, some front-end informations.

I took advantage for this tools where i could edited all my front-page content, but i'm not sure if i have how to make editions using "customizer solution" that travel agency pro theme offers, every time i need to change something at front-page.php or if i can take this out and get some classic editor to make changes?

See images from my localhost at my home/ front-page.php and when i click to translate this page it not showa me my content from the front-page, but instead of this, the content i saw is the page Home with some paragraph..

Please, man! how can i do what they asked me?

Look, I dont have access to erase my key in this link: https://wpml.org/account/sites/

So, I have 2 options:

First, i just "delete" entire WPML and after reinstal all package, back with new register license or i cannot change the key for license registered to my site.

Despite i understand that you support me and presume the attendence off other support guy looking for the solutions relative similar for the same questions i have done, the alternatives for this other support at the link you have send me are not equal of mine.

Thank You

Hi.

It would have been amazing if I would have the possibility to do all of this in your place, but because you are using a local site, I am not able to do more than just trying to guide you through the steps.

You should be able to generate a key for the local site/domain that you are using and register it inside the backend of your WordPress site (more info on how to do that here: https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register).

Practically, what the other link I gave you in my last reply means is for you to delete the current key in case you have one already (like you see in my screenshot above - there's a trash-bin icon option for you to delete the key and generate a new one).

As long as you create a full backup of the site first, you shouldn't be scared of deleting WPML and install it again as the translated content and WPML settings are saved inside the database.

Please let me know how that goes.

I will be waiting for your response.

PS: Just a note that I won't be working on the weekend so I will be able to get back to you at the beginning of next week if you will have any more questions.

If you would prefer to not wait for a ticket response, you can mark this current ticket as resolved and in the process of creating a new ticket, you can select the "Live chat" option (https://wpml.org/forums/forum/chat-support/)

Kind regards,
Mihai

Hi.

Mihai, you are absolutely right!

But let me considerate the changes i have done before follow the step you have mentioned above (delete keys, and generate a new key after this).

First, i have included some code behind at wp-config.php like that using the following statement:

/** Sets up a WPML site Key.

//So, when you move the database between domains, you will not need to update the registration. */
define( 'OTGS_INSTALLER_SITE_KEY_WPML', 'OlY2QbPfLS' );

Where you see i am using the key 'OlY2QbPfLS' that was generated, at first off all. So, i did this just to Automatically WPML registration using PHP and for easy moves between production, development, and web site staging
https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register

Now what should i do?

Supposedly, i must have to erase those statements from my wp-config.php and after this, foward the steps aboved that you have mentioned! Am i right?

Second, i think this procedure will sets up a Key, from WPML for the site, independent of the enviroment i' shoul be working! doesn't it?

Regards.

Thank you for sharing this with me - I did not know that you added that into wp-config.php.

Yes, for the moment, I suggest that you simply take that line out (comment it out) and use the classic procedure to register WPML - go to your WPML.org > Sites (https://wpml.org/account/sites/) > click Add new site > add the right subdomain/domain > copy the generated key inside Plugins > Add new > Commercial as it is shown into the documentation (https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register).

Please let me know how that goes.

I will be waiting for your reply.
