Tell us what you are trying to do?
Main site language is English. If I am in the cornerstone editor and click the FINNISH flag to get to my Finnish side, the page shows totally blank, none of my content, blocks etc. show up.

At the end of the English page, there is a GLOBAL block that shows our sponsors. I have no way of getting that block into my Finnish side?

Is there any documentation that you are following?
no

Is there a similar example that we can see?
no

What is the link to your site?
hidden link

Yeah I have seen the documentation none of that info helps.

The problem is when trying to add images to the English side of the website in our cooperators section at the bottom of the page.

If I switch languages to Finnish the page loads basically blank. I see NO sections at all, no text sections, no images nothing. All I see is the top menu and a background image.

How do I make it that the cooperator section at the bottom of the English page is seen when viewing the page in Finnish?

Hi,
Thank you very much for your feedback.

1.- Please describe the steps to reproduce the issue.

2.- I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Looking forward to your answer.
Best regards,
Carlos

Hi,
Thank you very much for your feedback.

I kindly ask you to follow this steps:
- Go to WPML -> Settings -> Custom Fields Translation -> Click on 'Show system fields' -> Search and unblock the '_cornerstone_data' field -> Set it to 'Translate' -> Save the changes.

Check if the issue persists. In case it persists then delete the Finnish version and duplicate the content from English to Finnish, once the content is duplicated then edit the translation independently and this should solve the issue.

In this link you will find more information about duplicating content: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/using-content-duplication/

Please let me know the result of the steps above.
Best regards,
Carlos

I did that setting change. Nothing happened. Flushed the cache. No change to the Finnish side the area I want still does not show.

Why am I now forced to wipe all the Finnish side off of the site? There are NO translations in that section, it is a bunch of images. How is deleting all my existing translations going to change anything.

IS that section going to suddenly pop up?? Because I really doubt that is the case.

I don't want to mess with having to re translate the entire site again, and still end up in the same position I am now.

Hi there,
I'm still laughing about the 1mb joke 🙂

In this case and before any other change, I would like to ask your authorization to make a copy of the site in order to make further tests in a local environment without affecting the live site.

Looking forward to your answer.
Best regards,
Carlos

LOL..Yeah sorry that's my dry sense of humor..

Sure go ahead, I have backups for the site as of yesterday. So please go ahead.

A couple of things.

The MAJOR issue is how WPML and Cornerstone seem to be in conflict still. Editing anything in WPML, wipes out all language on the Finnish side. As Cornerstone always warns that editing outside of cornerstone will mean any changes will get overwritten.

So I need the English side and the Finnish side to match. English side is correct. If you look at the Finnish side you will see differences. The major one being that there is NO cooperator logos at the bottom of the Finnish page. And also scrolling up a little you will see that the Facebook and IG logos are also missing on the Finnish page. They are NOT missing on the English one.

Good luck. If this does not get solved I don't know if I can even keep X theme. I did not choose it, it was deployed by an ex employee, who did not know how to make the site multi language. And I got stuck with the web dev of it from the moment they left us.

Z

Hi Z,

I was able to reproduce the issue on local and consulted our colleages about this issue. Unfortunately this a known issue with some of the new Cornerstone shortcodes, you can find more information and a workaround in this link: https://wpml.org/errata/cornerstone-shortcodes-arent-rendered-in-the-translated-pages/

Please let me know if you need further assistance and I will be more than happy to help.
Best regards,
Carlos

That link does not help in any way shape or form. In fact all it shows me is that the issue has not been resolved for MONTHS.

Many of your customers have the same issue and all of you give the same copy/paste reply to them asking about when it will be fixed.

Hi,

Unfortunately when this issue will be solved is not up-to us Supporters to determine.

The errata means that this is a known issue for our developers and that they are working on a solution. I consulted our specialists and they don't have an estimated time of arrival for this fix.

I apologize any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you very much for your understanding!
Best regards,
Carlos
