Hello

I bought Yoast SEO Premium and I have a question. Why additional keywords (from the Premium version) are not translated to another language (using the WPML plugin) only the primary keyword. Maybe you have already encountered this problem?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

This is because of a compatibility issue between Yoast Premium and WPML.
Our compatibility team is aware of this.
As a workaround please try the following steps and let me know your feedback.

1) Visit *wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo-premium* folder
2) Open *wpml-config.xml* file for edit
3) Add the following code after line 7

<custom-field action="translate">_yoast_wpseo_focuskeywords</custom-field>

4) Save the changes
5) Visit the backend. Then update the Page and open the Page for translation
6) You can see the rest of *Focus Keywords* in JSON format for translation

Please consider it as temporay workaround. Will get back to you when I have a feedback from our developers. It is happening becuase Yoast using *_yoast_wpseo_focuskeywords* meta key to store the focus keywords 2 to 5. Only first focus keyword is stored in *_yoast_wpseo_focuskw* meta key. And 2 to 5 keywords are storing in JSON formats. Please check the attached images for more details.

Regards,
Riffaz.

Hi,

Ok, then we have to check this with the new versions.
Do you have a test site for this?
So we can check if not , let us know we will create one.
The next reply is private.

all the time adds new materials to the site so when I have a new version I will check - the only question is when will I update?

for security reasons (customer data) I do not want to share login data even though this data will be sent in a private message.

Hi,

the only question is when will I update?
- which update you are asking?
- you have latest WPML plugins.

As you are using YOAST Premium you can check this with their support as well.
They can give the latest solution about their custom fields (focus keyword)
