Background of the issue:
I am trying to use automatic translation with WPML AI on my site hidden link. My site's default language is English, and I received a warning that it must be mapped to a supported language for automatic translation. I encountered a similar issue with another site, hidden link, but it worked somehow.
Symptoms:
The site's default language, English, doesn't support automatic translation, and I received a warning about this.
Questions:
How can I map the default language English to a supported language for automatic translation?
Why did automatic translation work on my other site despite the same warning?
Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you wait for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with the first debugging steps or see if I can help with the issue quickly.
Did you create English as a custom language?

First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please back up your database and website ❌
✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Best regards,
Osama
