Problem:
The client was unable to translate one string coming from the plugin "Smash Balloon Instagram Feed"

Solution:
The placeholder string was correctly registered for translation by the plugin but as soon as you customized it, you couldn't translate it anymore.
- Go to "WPML > String Translation"
- Check the option "Auto register strings for translation
- Visit page on the frontend were those strings are showing so they get registered
- Go back to "WPML > String Translation" and translate them
