product_type field was set incorrectly for some product translations
Started by: mohamed-nawfelO
in: English Support
Problem: product_type field was set incorrectly for some product translations due to the product_type taxonomy being translated. Solution: product_type taxonomy were now correct according to the screenshot they provided. Additionally, we clarified that the warning in their screenshot was a reminder to back up their site before proceeding with any troubleshooting steps. For more details, we provided a link to our documentation: Please note that if this solution does not apply to your case, or if it is outdated, we recommend checking the related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us. |

WP All Import compatibility and data sync process
Started by: mohamed-nawfelO
in: English Support
Problem: How to work with the WP All Import's Scheduled Sync option when importing translated products and content? Solution: I'll start by saying that we have clients that schedule the import process, so it is feasible to achieve with WPML All Import. Nevertheless, we can't test or know each case and configuration and guarantee it will work. You need to try things yourself and check if things work for you. We will be happy to answer further questions or hear about problems you are facing and help you as much as we can. Here are some thumb rules that you should keep in mind while approaching this task. 1. Follow our guides on working with WP All Export and WP All Import. https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/ Following these guides will ensure that the process will work when working with WPML and WP All Export, and WP All Import. 2. You specifically need to notice taxonomies when implementing this process. For imports to work correctly, you must have all the taxonomies translated on your destination site. We mention this in our guide here. Often we get forum tickets where the problem with scheduled imports is this reason. 3. Each time you import products (or any post type for this matter) by exporting the data from one site to another, you need to do it for the original language and then for the translations. This is true even if the products already exist on the destination site and you only want to update the translations. In other words, even when updating translated products, first, you need to update the original products (even if they were not changed on the source site). 4. You will need to configure your scheduled import (as you would with regular import) with the correct connector (unique identifier). Translation basket tab missing
Started by: mohamed-nawfelO
in: English Support
Problem: I added posts to the translation basket but I can't see the "translation basket" tab. Solution: Your user does not have the capability "manage_translations". To fix, paste the code in the theme functions.php file, refresh the frontend and then remove the code. add_action( 'init', 'add_caps' ); function add_caps() { $user = wp_get_current_user(); $role = get_role( $user->roles[0] ); if ($role->capabilities["manage_translations"] != TRUE) { $role->add_cap( 'manage_translations' ); } } Relevant Documentation: |

Problem: [Translation Service - Europa Traduction] Missing product translations. Solution: It is not clear what caused this issue. We checked the site's DB and could see that the products were all sent to local translators and not translated. So we adjusted the status to represent that. |

Problem: Sending a lot of jobs for translation from the translation basket fails. Solution: Increase the max execution time, max input vars to 10000 if this helps or the easy option send strings in smaller batches.
