I am working on a website where it was made in Spanish and translated into international English and UK English: hidden link

Now I need the website in international English as its main language. I have set WPML to international English as the primary language. But now I am starting to have problems with the URLs:

Before, for example, it was:

hidden link

hidden link

And now I need it to be the other way around:

hidden link

hidden link

How can I get all my English content to be in the main URL? And all the content in Spanish is in the /es/? subdirectory.

IMPORTANT: Please, send me a response copy to mtamburro@cronuts.digital

Hello,

In this case, you need to set the site's default language at WPML > Languages to "English".

Before taking this step please take a backup of your site and database, as changing the site's default language while having already created content can cause unexpected issues.

For example:
You might need to recreate your menus, as they are always created in the site's default language and you will run possibly into issues when trying to use WPML > WP Menus Sync.

Take note, that changing the site default language will only impact the URLs of your website. It will not impact the source language of your originally created content. If you created content in Spanish, you will keep translating from Spanish to English.

Let us know if further assistance will be needed.

Best regards
Andreas
