Background of the issue:
I'm trying to change a flag for the main language on my site hidden link. I have tried different file formats like svg, png, and jpg. I also tried changing the language code and saving, but nothing happens. I tried following the documentation at https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/custom-language-flags/ but its a 404.

Symptoms:
When I click save after changing the flag or language code, nothing happens. The changes do not take effect.

Questions:
Why are my changes to the main language flag not saving?
Why does changing the language code not take effect?...

Hi,

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

I checked with my team and they were able to fix the issue in the staging site, by following these steps:

- Go to WPML -> Settings -> Translation Editor
- Select the Advanced Translation Editor for new translations.
- Save and then edit the languages.

Somehow, the translation editor selection was missing in the above mentioned settings of WPML. After selecting one and saving, I was able to edit the languages and change the flag of default language.

Please try in the staging first and then try in your live site.

Regards.
