This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where after editing strings, some content reverts back to the original language. For instance, after adding Portuguese, the English version shows buttons in Romanian, and the French version has links that switched back to Romanian.

Solution:
We asked the client to provide a detailed step-by-step process with screenshots, starting from translating the strings, making adjustments, and up to the point where the translation is lost. This will help us understand the issue better and provide a specific solution.

We also recommended reading the article How to Translate an Elementor Website with WPML for guidance on translating websites built with Elementor.

If the provided solution is not relevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we suggest opening a new support ticket. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.

I have one more problem, after editing the strings some of my content goes back to the original language.
For example, I added Portuguese language yesterday and my English version has now the buttons in Romanian (see screenshot). Also, on the French version the links for my buttons switched to the original language (Romanian).

Is there a way to "lock" the translation for certain languages? Why is this happening?

I need you to capture the entire process in the screenshots. Start from the moment you translate the strings, then make some adjustments, and show when the translation is lost.

I also want to share a helpful article: "How to Translate an Elementor Website with WPML" https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/.
