Bernat Torras<\/strong> is currently working in the Quality Assurance Team testing WPML. In the past, he was involved in WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce plugin development and also worked as a WPML supporter.<\/p>\n

Living in Catalonia, 45 minutes from Barcelona, he took the opportunity to apply as a speaker at the first WordCamp in this beautiful city. He was accepted and this Saturday is looking forward to impressing local WordPress fans with a short talk combined with a live demo!<\/p>\n

About the session<\/h2>\n

Bernat’s session is entitled \u201cStart selling globally! Building a multilingual e-commerce site.\u201d<\/strong> It will be part of the event agenda<\/a> for Track A, on Saturday afternoon, at 4:30pm.<\/p>\n

Bernat will start with a short theoretical part and will answer these two questions:<\/p>\n

  • Is WordPress good enough for e-commerce sites? (yep, we know there are other solutions as Magento, Prestashop, etc)<\/li>\n
  • Is it worthwhile to make your store multilingual?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Then he will run a demo.<\/strong> He has prepared a sample shop in his localhost running WooCommerce with some products.<\/p>\n

    Bernat will demonstrate:<\/p>\n

    • how to setup WPML with a few languages,<\/li>\n
    • how to use the free WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce plugin to setup currencies (with formatting, and rounding options),<\/li>\n
    • how to translate products together with categories, attributes and custom fields,<\/li>\n
    • how the WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce plugin works with other third-parties plugins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
