(For starters, choose the footer language selector, you can change this later.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For this tutorial, we will use some of the sample content available in Bridge theme; you can import this content by following the below steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Login to WordPress admin<\/li>\n<li>Go into admin panel &gt; Qode Options &gt; Qode Import.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/import1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/import1-300x198.png\" alt=\"import1\" width=\"420\" height=\"277\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Choose the demo site that you wish to import from using the dropdown menu. We will choose \u201cOriginal\u201d<\/li>\n<li>From the dropdown menu on the right, choose what type of content you would like to import. We will choose \u201cAll\u201d.\u00a0Note that if you wish to import media files (images, videos, sounds), check the \u00ab\u00a0Import attachments\u00a0\u00bb box.<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cImport\u201d button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/import2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/import2-300x175.png\" alt=\"import2\" width=\"447\" height=\"261\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Translating Bridge theme elements<\/h2>\n<h3>Translating pages and posts<\/h3>\n<p>When you navigate to \u201cPages\u201d in the WordPress dashboard you will see columns for each active language, with a<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/image4.png\" alt=\"image4\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/> \u00a0icon to add translation. Check the illustration below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translation-to-page.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translation-to-page-300x135.png\" alt=\"add translation to page\" width=\"464\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now you will be able to translate your page by setting the translated title and body and then clicking on the \u2018Publish\u2019 button.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/copy-content-and-overwrite-content-.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/copy-content-and-overwrite-content--300x135.png\" alt=\"copy content and overwrite content\" width=\"454\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note that you can click on the \u2018copy content from\u2019 or \u2018overwrite with content\u2019 options found on the language meta box to the right.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018copy content from\u2019 option will automatically copy the content from the primary (default) language to the translated language, giving you the option to translate the copied content.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018overwrite with content\u2019 option will always set the translation of that page to be a duplicate of the original page (in the default language). You can disconnect the page to be translated independently by clicking on \u2018 Translate independently\u2019 found on the language meta box. Check the illustration below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-independently-.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-independently-.png\" alt=\"translate independently\" width=\"270\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Translating\u00a0 the custom post \u201cPortfolio\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Navigate to \u2018Portfolio\u2019 in your WordPress dashboard and click on the\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/image4.png\" alt=\"image4\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/>\u00a0icon to add the translation. Check the illustration below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-portfolio.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-portfolio-300x132.png\" alt=\"translate portfolio\" width=\"436\" height=\"192\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Add the translated content.<\/p>\n<h3>Translating the custom post type \u201cTestimonials\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>The same steps followed in translating the custom post type \u201cPortfolio\u201d can be followed to translate the \u201cTestimonials\u201d.<\/p>\n<h3>Translating the custom taxonomy \u201cPortfolio Categories\u201d<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to WPML &gt;&gt; Taxonomy Translation<\/li>\n<li>Select \u201cPortfolio Categories\u201d from the Select the taxonomy to translate drop down menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u201ctranslate\u201d to add the custom taxonomy translation by filling the required fields and then \u201cOK\u201d as illustrated below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-portfolio-categories-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-portfolio-categories-1-300x135.png\" alt=\"translate portfolio categories\" width=\"449\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Translating the custom taxonomy \u201cTestimonials Categories\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>The same steps followed in translating the custom taxonomy \u201cPortfolio Categories\u201d can be followed to translate the \u201ctestimonials\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>Translating Qode sliders and slides<\/h2>\n<p>To translate slides, navigate to Qode slider &gt;&gt; slides. Now click on the \u00a0icon and simply fill in your translated text and publish, as shown in the illustrations below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-slide1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-slide1-300x135.png\" alt=\"translate slide1\" width=\"451\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-slide2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-slide2-300x140.png\" alt=\"translate slide2\" width=\"454\" height=\"212\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To translate the Qode slider follow the below steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to Qoad Slider &gt;&gt; Slider<\/li>\n<li>Click on the created slider as shown in the illustration below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/choose-the-slider.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/choose-the-slider-300x137.png\" alt=\"choose the slider\" width=\"449\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Click on the add button on the language section as shown below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translation-for-slider.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translation-for-slider-300x135.png\" alt=\"add translation for slider\" width=\"449\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Fill the (Name, slug and description) with the translated content and click on the \u2018Add new slider\u2019 button, as shown in the illustration below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translated-content-to-slider.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translated-content-to-slider-300x135.png\" alt=\"add translated content to slider\" width=\"449\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With this, a duplicate slider is created with the translated content to the secondary language. You can choose to display the sliders created under the primary, secondary or all languages as shown in the illustration below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/slider-languages.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/slider-languages-300x124.png\" alt=\"slider languages\" width=\"450\" height=\"186\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Translating menus<\/h2>\n<p>With WPML you can easily synchronize between your languages\u2019 menus, for more information please check our full <a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/documentation\/getting-started-guide\/translating-menus\/\">translating menus<\/a> tutorial.<\/p>\n<h2>Translating theme text and other strings on your website<\/h2>\n<p>To translate the theme strings you will need to scan your theme for strings, as this will register the strings for translation on the string translation screen. (Find out more about <a href=\"\/?page_id=2717\">Theme and Plugin Localization<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>This can be be done by following the steps below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to WPML &gt;&gt; Theme and plugin localization<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u201cScan the theme for strings\u201d button, this will register the theme texts for translation on the string translation screen. Check the illustration below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Scan-theme-for-strings.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Scan-theme-for-strings-300x135.png\" alt=\"Scan theme for strings\" width=\"451\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Now you can navigate to WPML &gt;&gt; String translation and filter the strings by \u201ctranslation needed\u201d to see which strings are missing translations, or select a specific text domain. You can also search for a specific string by typing it in the \u201csearch for:\u201d field and then clicking the \u201csearch\u201d button. Once you find your string, click on \u201ctranslations\u201d and add your translated text. Now choose the \u2018Translation is complete\u2019 option and click save. Check the illustration below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translation-to-string.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/add-translation-to-string-300x134.png\" alt=\"add translation to string\" width=\"448\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Translating theme options<\/h2>\n<p>Translating theme options can be done by navigating to WPML &gt;&gt; String translation and selecting the (admin_texts_qode_options_proya) domain as shown in the illustration below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-theme-options.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/translate-theme-options-300x132.png\" alt=\"translate theme options\" width=\"450\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Getting help<\/h2>\n<p>If you need help with using WPML with Bridge theme, please head over to our <a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/forums\/forum\/english-support\/\">technical forum<\/a>.\u00a0Before posting about issues, we recommend that you review this quick checklist:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure you have the latest versions of the theme and of the WPML plugins, and that they are all activated. These include WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation and WPML Translation Management.<\/li>\n<li>The problem does not appear if the WPML plugins are deactivated, but it does appear when only the core WPML plugins are activated. In other words, try to make sure that it is an issue of compatibility between Bridge theme and WPML, since otherwise Bridge support is likely to be able to help you better.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>Bridge theme has many elements, and all of them can be translated using WPML.
