Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to send media to translation via Translation Management in WPML.

Symptoms:
The dropdown in the Dashboard tab in Translation Management doesn't include media as an option.

Questions:
How can I send media to translation via Translation Management?

Thanks for reaching us.

It should look like the attached if you wish to translate media from a page/post. Could you recheck?

Here is a test page I prepared for you to play with hidden link

But how about media that is not attached to any post/page or CPT?

Thanks for your reply.

When you upload an image directly to WP > Media > Add new Media File, the image will show up for translation in WPML > Media Translation.

You can give this a try on the sandbox site that I've prepared here. hidden link

I know that but I need to send it to a translation service via Translation Management. Can I do that?

Thanks for your reply.

What you can do would be to upload all images into a post and then, send it for translation using the Translation Management.

Yes but some of the images in question that are upload are being used in posts as featured images or in ACF fields and re uploading them will not fix that problem but will cause additional work. Also it's a lot of images :)...

Sry I don't want to be a pain but workarounds like this don't help. Especially since there is no easy way to fix this without changing a big amount of already created content.

I was expecting to be able to translate everything using the translation service in a consistent way or at least not to have to edit a lot of exiting content.

Thanks for your reply.

I understand your situation. Unfortunately, there isn't an alternative solution at the moment. However, I’ll submit this as a feature request for our developers to review. They may consider adding a feature that could make it easier for you to achieve what you need in the future.
