Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

What is the reason for deleting the media? If you want to disable WPML, please try the following:
- Enable WPML
- Go to the Media > Library
- Switch to the second language
- Delete the media from the library
- Repeat for all secondary languages
- Disable WPML

PS: Please note that the images are duplicated only in the database (the file is not duplicated).

Please let us know if it worked for you. If the issue persist, could you please elaborate a little more on this issue, so we can better understand? E.g. The link of the page, steps you've tried, etc.
