I translate an article in three languages. If I force a different permanent link for every translated page, instead of using the default, the links don't work anymore and the browser display a 404 error.

Are you referring to the "permalink"? or do you mean a "permanent link" with in the post-content area?

Are you using a plugin to do force this change? If so, which one?

Could you please provide an example in your site?
