This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing incorrect image text translations within the WPML editor.
Solution:
We identified a possible cause related to media files with similar filenames. For more details, see the errata page: Media Translation Issue with Images Having Similar Filenames.
We applied a workaround by navigating to WPML > Settings > Media Translation > How to handle media library texts and disabling the option 'Translate media library texts with posts'. We then initiated a re-sync of the media library by clicking the 'Start' button.
We recommend testing this solution on your staging site to confirm if the issue is resolved.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, please check the related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and ensure you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, we encourage you to open a new support ticket at WPML Support Forum for further assistance.

Hello There,
Thanks for reaching out to WPML Support.

Before this thread gets assigned to my colleague, I'd like to offer some initial guidance or potential solutions.

To translate the information attached to an image, first, go to WPML > Settings > Media Translation and ensure that this hidden link">option is selected.

If the wrong image text is showing in the translation editor, make a small update to the image text and save the changes. Then, save the page or post where the image is attached, and proceed to add or update the translation. The image data should then appear correctly in the translation editor.

Please let us know if the information helps or if you need further assistance in this matter. We will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi there,

I don't see a specific URL included in the ticket, however, I do see that you have shared a URL in this thread here recently:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/some-image-text-duplication-at-times/#post-16045296

To avoid duplicates, please confirm if the issue in this thread and the one I shared above are the same ? In that case please proceed with the original thread as my colleague has already requested access to the site.

No, it is a completely different issue.

Every new ticket I create includes the field as seen in the snapshot. Why does it get lost in transit???

This ticket comes with the wrong image text. The other ticket comes with text duplication, like stuttering entries that repeat within the same WPML Editor.

Hi,

I'm happy to offer to take a closer look.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the site to investigate the issue further.

The required fields are below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to back up the site and database before granting us access.

If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and site credentials will be set to "PUBLIC". DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

I may need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" here to create a copy of the site that I can use to investigate the issue further.

However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or copy of the website from your server for this purpose.

If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Please note that WPML must also be registered on this staging site at https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/.

If you are not able to provide such a copy of the website for testing, please let me know on this ticket.

IMPORTANT:
Please pass me a link or title of a page on which I can see the issue.

The private reply form looks like this:

The next time you reply, click on "I still need assistance".

Please note that we are obliged to request this information individually on each ticket. We are not allowed to access any credentials that were not specifically submitted on this ticket in the private response form.

Best regards
Andreas

I will get back to you once I find the page in question. I do not remember which one. I have tons of pages on the site.

It looks like your staging site is registered correctly now.

See Plugins > Add new > Commercial or WPML > Support > Installer Support > Check now.

We really would need an example to troubleshoot this issue.

Take note, that if your site is experiencing a bug, you should be able to recreate the issue on newly created content.

Sorry, I had clients to deal with. I will start testing new pages now.

Okay, I'm back online. Sorry for the delay.

If you look into page hidden link, you will find an image title in WPML that does not exist on the page itself.

The image title is: "Possible Robbery Home Invader". See the snapshot below:

Could you please try to edit the original content in Elementor, save the page and then open the WPML Translation Editor.

If this will not solve the issue, please let me know.

I did it 15 minutes ago. I did not help. I also cleared browser and server caches. In the past 2 weeks, I have done so dozens of times.

"Possible Robbery Home Invader" is the title of the following image:
hidden link

This image is attached to this content inside the media library and this is why this text appears inside the translation editor. You can detach the image inside the media library.

See screenshot.

---

Take kindly note:

This page is not translated to 100% inside the WPML Translation Editor.

As you can see on the screenshot, all segments are marked with dotted lines, which means the segments that you see are the moment, are pre-filled with automatic translations.

If you accept each segment you will get charged for automatic translation.

You can click inside the top bar on "Undo translations" and be able to disable the automatic translation by default.

Okay, that makes sense! Good to know.

Have you detached it already, cause I am not given the option to detach the image.
