{"id":14527507,"date":"2023-10-09T11:35:08","date_gmt":"2023-10-09T11:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wpml.org\/?p=14527507"},"modified":"2025-09-23T10:26:38","modified_gmt":"2025-09-23T10:26:38","slug":"woocommerce-multilingual-5-2-1-compatibility-fix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wpml.org\/it\/compatibility\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-multilingual-5-2-1-compatibility-fix\/","title":{"rendered":"WooCommerce Multilingual 5.2.1 &#8211; Hotfix for WooCommerce 8.2 Order Storage Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"lead\">We just released WooCommerce Multilingual 5.2.1, a hotfix version with a temporary fix for sites that upgrade to WooCommerce 8.2 and enable High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-toolset-blocks-container tb-container\" data-toolset-blocks-container=\"b1991dfb59bacdeebdc97e40f18802e1\">\n<h4 class=\"tb-heading has-text-color\" data-toolset-blocks-heading=\"3e8701d527b4b5b9deb2b1fe2534cbaa\" data-last-update=\"1.4\">WooCommerce Multilingual has a new name<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to a request from WooCommerce, <a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/compatibility\/2025\/09\/wpml-multilingual-multicurrency-for-woocommerce\/\">we&#8217;ve renamed WooCommerce Multilingual to <strong>WPML Multilingual &amp; Multicurrency for WooCommerce<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>WooCommerce 8.2 introduces a new way to store site orders in the database. Instead of post tables, it&#8217;s shifting to custom tables via High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t something you&#8217;ll see directly, but it&#8217;s designed to speed up your website. With orders in their own table, your site will be able handle them more efficiently, and you\u2019ll be able to access order details more quickly in the backend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WooCommerce Multilingual and HPOS Compatibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are still working on full support for High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment, WooCommerce will only enable HPOS by default for new WooCommerce stores. For existing WooCommerce sites, enabling HPOS is optional.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you decide to enable HPOS, your multilingual site will function, and customers will be able to place orders. But, you won&#8217;t see order details sorted by language and currency in Analytics and Reports. We\u2019re working on making WPML Multilingual &amp; Multicurrency for WooCommerce look for this order data in the new tables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You Can Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We aim to release WooCommerce Multilingual 5.3, which will offer out-of-the-box compatibility with HPOS, in the upcoming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the meantime, to avoid issues on your existing site, wait with updating to WooCommerce 8.2 until we release WooCommerce Multilingual 5.3.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you still decide to update to WooCommerce 8.2, you have the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Update to WooCommerce 8.2, but don&#8217;t enable HPOS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update to WooCommerce 8.2 and enable HPOS, but make sure to also select <strong>Enable compatibility mode (synchronizes orders to the posts table).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\" tb-image tb-image-dynamic tb-image-frame-none aligncenter\" data-toolset-blocks-image=\"824522680da5b4c46b60ca54188c9d92\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1922\" height=\"970\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14527523\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled.png 1922w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled-300x151.png 300w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled-1024x517.png 1024w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled-150x76.png 150w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled-768x388.png 768w, https:\/\/wpml.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/woocommerce-hpos-and-compatibility-mode-enabled-1536x775.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1922px) 100vw, 1922px\" \/><\/a><figcaption><div class=\"tb-image-caption\">Enable both High-performance order storage and compatibility mode<\/div><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>If you update to WooCommerce 8.2 and enable HPOS, we recommend updating to WooCommerce Multilingual 5.2.1 as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WooCommerce 5.2.1 notifies you if you have HPOS activated but haven&#8217;t enabled compatibility mode. You\u2019ll only see a notification if you&#8217;re in this situation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of requiring you to go through WooCommerce settings, the displayed notification lets you enable the compatibility mode with a click of a button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Update to WooCommerce Multilingual 5.2.1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve released WooCommerce Multilingual 5.2.1 to all sites, so you should be able to see the update by simply going to the <strong>Plugins<\/strong> page in the WordPress admin area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, it takes time for the update to reach all sites. If you can\u2019t see it, go to <strong>Plugins \u2192 Add New<\/strong> and click the <strong>Commercial<\/strong> tab.
