I Noticed, that our string translations don't work anymore. Our footer shows all the German words instead of the translations. It is translated correctly, but it doesn't show it anymore. I have an example for our French site.

Could you please load the beetheme here: hidden link

then, try to add a widget and copy the content from your blocks or create a new one (heading + normal text) and try to translate it to see if it does work in the front-end here or not.

Let me know how it goes so i can understand how to continue.

May i know what exactly didn't work? i checked the sandbox site i sent you and i saw that betheme is not installed.

I need you to kindly do what i asked here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/our-string-translations-dont-work-anymore/#post-12130175

this way i can check if the problem can be recreated on a new installation, so i can send it to our developers for a solution.

Please let me know when you do!

I did recreate it, even without the BETheme it didn't translate. As you can see, I added some test links in the footer widget.

Also you have our wordpress access data, so could you plwase ask your developers what's the problem again?

Hi there!

This is Paola and I will continue with the ticket as Alejandro is on holiday.

Could you please tell me where have you recreated the problem?

I see that the sandbox is expired.

So please recreate the issue here: hidden link

Let me know when it is done. It is important to recreate the issue there, that way we can send the issue to our developers.

Thanks,

Paola

Hi there!

In order to translate those strings you will need to follow this documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#strings-arent-selected-for-translation

I have prepared a video for you:

Please let me know if you have any issues.

Hi Paola

Thank you

And how can I change the original language? Because when I type in "solarrechener" and find the content, the original langiage should be German and not Worldwide. Can I change that somehow?

Hi there!

Click on "Change the language of selected string" and then change the language.

Here you can see the documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/how-to-change-the-source-language-of-strings/

Regards,

Paola

Unfortunately it only worked once, before I changed the origin of the language. But then I changed the origin first and now it doesn't show all my new translations. Is there a way to fix this? Even the titles it won't translate. It is really nerve racking.

Could you please add your theme on the test site?

So let´s see if we can reproduce the problem.

The translation worked in you site, I just added a few string translations and they work fine.
But it doesn't change, that it is not workin on our website, I did the same thing, just change the origin of the language of the string.
Can someone please look it up on our website, it is urgent, we have the wrong footer on all of our websites
