This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the English translation of the homepage reverts to French after updates are made to the original French page, despite being marked as an independent translation. This issue does not occur with the Bulgarian translation.

Solution:
1. We recommend taking a backup of the website for safety reasons.
2. Navigate to WPML >> Support >> Troubleshooting page and click the following buttons:
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
- Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
- Set language information
3. Delete the problematic English language page and empty the trash.
4. Clear all types of cache on the site, server, or plugin, then:
4.1. Open the default language homepage in Edit mode.
4.2. Make a small change, such as adding a space or + sign in the page/post title.
4.3. Update the page.
4.4. Remove the small change made in step 4.2.
4.5. Update the page again.
4.6. Try to click on the Plus (+) icon to add the translation again.

Hello,

I'm making a multilingual website using WPML in French (primary), English, and Bulgarian.

I'm having an issue with translating the homepage into English. The problem is that when I mark the English page as an independent translation and translate it into French, the English page returns to French after making changes on the original page to French. This doesn't happen with the Bulgarian page; it only happens with the page in English.

I tried permanently deleting the English page and then recreating it by clicking the + text to translate it into English from the French page without ticking the "Duplicate" checkbox, but the behavior is the same. After I make a change on the French page, the same change is applied on the English page, even though it's marked as an independent translation. It drives me crazy.

Here's a video: hidden link

Can someone please tell me how to make the English page NOT a duplication of the French page so editing the French page doesn't override the English page?

Thanks.
