hi there,
i want to know if the WPML will work with the current wordpres theme that we are currently using for our client. From research i know this plugin will work with AIT Guesthouse theme however this hasn’t been updated to the newest version we are currently running version 2.47. The main questions is:
will we be able to add the language picker dropdown bar within the menu like the link?
Hi Chester,
1. Yes, WPML will work with this theme. It was tested by our WPML compatibility team.
2. Yes, you will be able to include the language switcher in the menu as in the demo.
3. I expect that it will work with the recent version as well since the langue switcher is a very important element of your site. But even it is not, including a language switcher in your menu is not a big deal and our support people will help you if you run into issues.
4. Yes, Multilingual CMS version (or Lifetime) is required for this case.
5. No, we don’t have any phone numbers, neither a live chat. Feel free to use this page to ask any other pre sales questions, I will be happy to help.
im getting this error
Fatal error: Class ‘WPML_SP_User’ not found in /home2/nivgal/public_html/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/inc/emails.class.php on line 2
I want to buy WPML for a client work, with the difunt theme EWA from Freevision (now Ozythemes). But I don’t know wich versión of WPML buy. ¿Can I buy version Blog and later upgrade to CMS ?
Hi Alessandro,
I have difficulties to find this theme. It seems to be removed from Theme Forest. What is the link to this theme site? I cannot find this theme in our theme compatibility list either: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
and this means that it wasn’t tested by our team so I cannot tell you much if it will work with WPML without any issues. If I could see the link to the theme official page maybe I could tell more.
Yes, you can start from the Blog version and later upgrade to CMS (you will pay the difference only). We also have refunds policy that allows you to buy WPML and test it for 30 days. If it turns out that it doesn’t satisfy your needs, we will give your money back.
I customize plugins and themes fit to my customer’s, and now I need multilingual content. I read details of your free developer licence, but I don’t work under GPL licence, so I not fit into.
Which is your licence fit for multi customer / multi site usage?
Hi Jozsef,
nice to hear that you are theme/plugin author.
All our licenses are for multi customer/multi site usage. In other words you need to buy only one license and use it for all your sites/customers. But you cannot resale WPML and you cannot embed WPML in your plugins/themes. You can only make your themes and plugins WPML compatible.
Hi Mauro,
1) Yes, you will be able to setup the landing pages based on the browser visitors languages. This option is diabled by default so you will need to go to WPML settings and enable it.
2) This is called a language switcher. WPML will generate the language switcher automatically for all the languages you have activated. This language switcher can be added to your menu, sidebar and your footer by setting the relevant option in your WPML settings.
3) No, this is not true. Your site done with WPML will index very well if you will keep to these directives recommended by Google.
4) No, there are not. Automatic translation are not recommended y search engine, won’t let to index your site well.
Hi
I’m a little confused about this product – does it offer automatic translation of wordpress pages or is it a plugin that creates black pages for each page/post and we then have to manually enter the translation or get someone else to do it?
Regards
Arun
Hi Arun, the second option is true, so WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. You have three options to translate your contents:
Do this manually – copy from the documents your customer has provided and paste translations directly into your WordPress. This is a simple process but a very time-consuming one.
Send your content to your own translators via XLIFF files. WPML Translation Management module helps you here.
Send your content to a professional translation. Completed translations appear automatically in your site. No manual work is needed. This is paid extra
Let me explain why we don’t allow for automatic translations.
The point of making a multilingual site is to attract more customers. You won’t attract new customers from search engines such as Google if your site won’t get index. Only translation made by human will help your site to index well.
I bought your lifetime membership 2 days ago. I have not received information to create account. Also, I tried to retrieve credentials but site says email not found.
and it didn’t help? If so, maybe you made a typo in your email. If so, we must fix it manually in our system.
I will ask our admins to check it and fix. We will keep you posted.
Hi,
I bought your product about two hours ago.
Unfortunately the email address I bought it with doesn’t work and is returning non delivery messages.
This means I can’t log on to get my downlaods!!
Can I change my email from [email edited]
to [email edited]
!!!!
Thanks a lot, sorry to come through to pre-sales but I can’t see any other way!
Tony
Hi Tony,
sorry to hear that you have problems with the activation emails. Let us check your case in our system and we will fix it manually. I will keep you posted.
Hi team, i am using the WPML and I have encountered this following error whilst looking to active the pack:
Fatal error: Call to a member function convert_url() on a non-object in /srv/data/web/vhosts/about.myxtramile.com/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/inc/url-handling/wpml-url-filters.class.php on line 111
Hello, are there any chances to get support during this weekend (I sent a ticket already)? The translation disappeared and on Monday an important client has to see the site 🙁 Thanks for your understanding
Will WPML handle a situation where posts made by different people in different languages will all be viewed in the language of another visitor (e.g., person #1 posts in Spanish, person #2 posts in English, person #3 is able to read ALL posts in Spanish)?
While using WPML, can the management side of the site be setup in one language only?
Is the translation handled automatically based on IP address or does the visitor click on a flag or can it do both?
Would the Multilingual Blog version be sufficient for my needs (as suggested above)?
Hi Mike,
thanks for you questions. Very good ones!
Will WPML handle a situation where posts made by different people in different languages will all be viewed in the language of another visitor
Yes, all you WordPress user can see posts/pages in all languages but WPML also allows you to limit the posts/page displayed to one specific language. You will see a language switcher in your WordPress back-end as well. For example, my colleague David is answering WPML pre-sales questions in Spanish so he clicks on the Spanish flag in his admin (back-end) and will see only comments posted in Spanish. But he can also switch to English to see enquiries posted in English only. In addition he can alway choose “All languages” and he will see pre-sales questions from all languages.
While using WPML, can the management side of the site be setup in one language only?
I’m not sure what you mean. Probably you are asking about the language of your back-end. Each user can choose the admin language individually. You can edit your language preferences by visiting your profile page.
Is the translation handled automatically based on IP address or does the visitor click on a flag or can it do both?
The visitor clicks on the flag. WPML can also automatically redirect visitors according to browser language but this option is disable by default and you need to activate it in your WPML settings.
And please note that WPML doesn’t translate the contents automatically. The goal of having a multilingual site is to attract more traffic form search engines and for this only translations made by humans count.
You have three options to translate your contents:
1. Do this manually – copy from the documents your customer has provided and paste translations directly into your WordPress. This is a simple process but a very time-consuming one.

Would the Multilingual Blog version be sufficient for my needs (as suggested above)?
If you want to translate only posts/pages, categories, menus, yes, the Blog version will be enough. You can always upgrade to CMS version later and pay the difference only.
When a user comes to my website and posts a message in Spanish and subsequently another user visits my website, they use the translation to English to see the Spanish post in English. How does the translation take place (i.e., does it use Google Translate or some other translation database)?
Hi Mike, WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. By “professional translators” I mean real people, mostly native speakers for a language given who can translate your contents. Did I answer your question?
1) Will WPML translate phrases which are delivered to the page as part of php short codes as generated by plugins such as ‘PHP Code for posts’ or ‘Shortcode Exec PHP’?
2) Where can I download Gravity Forms Multilingual? I don’t see any obvious links to it.
Hi Bill,
1. yes but only if there were coded with the gettext functions. If a theme/plugin author follows the good programming standards for sure they use getttext functions
Sometimes using gettext functions is not enough. Especially to translate theme custom options. This can be handled by adding a special file called wpml config. All themes listed here use such a file. Also also these plugins.
2. You will find a link to it in your Download section of your WPML account
1) when purchased can I use in all of our websites?
2) do is has capabilities to automatically set the language based upon where customers come from. Eg if a british customer reaches our NL websites, it will switch automatically to English same for a customer from Paris but then it will be French?
Hi Gerard,
1. yes, you can
2. there is an option called “Browser language redirect”. It allows to automatically redirect visitors according to browser language. This option is disable by default and you can enable it in your WPML Settings.
Hi Luc,
WPML won’t stop working after the first year. Usually our customers upgrade to Lifetime after the first year (you pay the difference only) to make sure that WPML will be compatible with future WordPress releases. And yes, you need active license for support.
but it doesn’t mean it won’t work with WPML. Most themes work with WPML, at least the basic elements such as posts/pages, menus, categories etc. If you want you can test it yourself. We have a refunds policy that allows you to ask for your money back within 30 days:
Before I purchase, I need to know if this plugin will work with App Themes “Vantage theme”? Earlier versions of some of their themes say that it does not, but maybe there is an update?
Hi,
this theme wasn’t tested by our “WPML Compatibility Team” so I cannot say that everything will work with WPML. Basic features are easy to translate with WPML and any theme. Things get more tricky when it comes to theme specific options such as sliders, unique elements you won’t find in other themes etc.
You can consider buying WPML and testing it yourself for 30 days. If you are not completely satisfy you can use our refunds policy and we will give your money back.
Hello
I want to Purchase your plugin but I have some questions first
1- my website is in arabic default … so can I add also ” English – German – Turkish – French ” into it ?
2- I will purchase the Multilingual Blog option … so will there will be anything not translated into other languages ?? if yes please inform me
3- my template is Zoner … so when I install the plugin where the translate option will appear ???
thank you
Hi Steve,
thanks for your interest in WPML and your questions.
1. Yes, you can. More details here.
2. Yes, there might be some elements you won’t be able to translate using the Blog subscriptions such as some widgets, theme custom options, sliders etc. In other words any strings that need translations but are not regular WP posts, pages, categories, tags, menus. To translate these you need the “String Translation” plugin which is available only in the CMS or Lifetime version.
3. You mean the language switcher? You decide. You can include it in your menu, sidebar or in the footer using the WPML basic settings. SO this comes down to a few clicks. But in theory you can insert it anywhere you want to but to do this you need to add one line to one of your php file, usually header.php.
HELP – I JUST LOST ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT AFTER YOUR LATEST PASSWORD SECURITY UPDATE!!!
This is very frustrating as I just updated my subscription on June 9/15 ! I sure hope you get back to me. I now have no access to my active paid account (its username / password no longer works) – and thus no way to access regular tech support (only available to paying customers) without paying for another subscription!
I just looked at my invoice and discovered the account was using an old email address which now no longer works (I never realized this as it has been forwarding my email for years – but it just stopped recently I guess when the domain name expired). So how can set this to an email address that works. I can verify whatever you might need on the following account ….
My active account username that I can not access is [edited]
Hi Robb,
we checked your case and you can reset your password with your PayPal email address. If you run into any issues, please use this contact form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
Hello I have a pre-purchase question.
I am in the process of building a new web page for my restaurant and I am wondering how well can it translate short dish descriptions and similar things like that. I am new to this and I wonder how it works. There are some “special” words that are hard to translate (or cannot be put into another language) and I am worried the translates will come out google translate like. Furthermore does it also apply different grammatic rules such as currency and time formats (maybe auto price conversions as well)? Is there a way to try out the plugin like a demo to see if it would suit our needs? Can you tell me the value of renewing the licence since my content is more or less static (after its built). Thank you for the explanations.
PS: I noticed some website woo101.com is selling your plugin is that original or a copy

3rd) is it true that with WPML, instead of installing multisite with different language, I’ll miss google SEO and index ranking ?
Last question 🙂 Are there also an an on-the-fly translation included in your package ?

Hi, you buy only one license and you can use it for all the sites you build for your customers.
Does this plugin work with woocommerce? Our site is built with WordPress and woocommerce.
Yes, the CMS or Lifetime version works with WooCommerce. To translate your WooCommerce sites you will also need this free plugin, it is developed by our team:

Hi,
For a client I want to buy WPML. But I am not sure what version to include in my offer to the client: Multilingual CMS of Multilingual CMS Lifetime
Will WPML stop working after 1 year with Multilingual CMS? Do I need to buy a new license every year? Or is the license only for updates and suport?
Hi Luc,
WPML won’t stop working after the first year. Usually our customers upgrade to Lifetime after the first year (you pay the difference only) to make sure that WPML will be compatible with future WordPress releases. And yes, you need active license for support.
hello,
I need to update my account.
how can I pay 116 instead of 195 as proposed in my account?
When I click the cart has the full price, not lowered!
Hello, this will work but your current subscription must be active and you need to be logged into your account when upgrading to Lifetime.

Thank you for the explanations.
PS: I noticed some website woo101.com is selling your plugin is that original or a copy
