Please note that “translating” invoices doesn’t come down to getting the invoice in another language. Each country might have their own law regulations and the invoice should be adjusted to these.

Hello, we bought a web site for our tourist agency last year, it is using your wpml plugin but our subscription has ended and we can’t update it. Current wpml verson we have installed is 3.5.1.1. That version had a bug where wp_icl_string_pages would cause increased database size, it is fixed in later versions but we can’t update since our sub is not active.
We would like to buy wpml and update it but we have a few questions before that.
We worry that after update our web site might not work properly because we don’t use latest wordpress version. Our current wordpress version is 4.6.8. We can’t update wordpress because there is a lot of custom code and company that made our web site is refusing to do it because of that. Theme we are using is Traveler by shinetheme.

If you only need a site in Chinese, you don’t need WPML. You only need to set-up WordPress to Chinese and you’re all set. You need WPML when you want to run sites in more than one language.

No. WPML is a plugin that allows you translate all your site from within the same WordPress install. It does also work on multisite, if you need it.

The browser redirection we have is an optional feature which is mainly handled via JavaScript. We don’t provide specialized hooks for it. What the user can do is simply disable this feature and write some custom code to replace our functionality.”

I would like to manually translate cornerstone content like the home page AND for blog posts and press releases (which are under specific categories) I would like to have automatically translated so as to reduce the level of effort. Can this be done with WPML? Thanks!
