Hi there,
Apologies if this question has already been answered, but does WPML support us having more than one translation agency? Or are we tied to selecting just one agency?
Hey Grace, in theory that’s possible but in practice not recommended unless you accept the drawbacks of doing so. Let me explain. In general, you can switch between translation companies but the note that once you send something to translate to one translation service (A), and in the meantime you switch to some other company (B) you won’t be able to get your previous translations (the ones that you sent to the company A) back until you switch back to use the first one (A). Switching has to do with using authentication data so it’s not a one click move. I hope it helps.
I have lost access to my companies WPML account. It was registered under a past employee’s email address which has since been deactivated. Is there anyone who can help me out?
Hello Jake,
we can update the account only if you are the owner of the subscription, which means it was purchased with your (or your company) name. Please send us your order number using this form.https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ Otherwise you need to buy anew.
I’m looking at your WPML Lifetime purchase, but am curious how your plugin interacts with YOAST. Will I be able to structure the slug, description and SEO friendly URLs in each language?
Do you have any case studies specifically related to your plugin and SEO?
Will this plugin create a bunch of 301 or even worse, 302 redirects for the content?
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards
David
I have tried to order the lifelong subscription, in the middle of the “protecting the card process, I accidentally shut down the site. Now each time I enter our card info, it says not authorized. There is no balance on our card, so I know that is not the problem. Is there any way to reset so I can try this again?
Hello Russ,
You will need to contact your credit card company about this to validate the online transaction. You are also welcome to pay with PayPal.
Let me know if you need any further help.
Hello Jan,
I’m sorry but we don’t have any special offers for NPOs. We used to have it, but we no longer do. You would need to buy WPML for the same price as our other customers.
A customer of mine wants a multilingual website later. Should I activate WPML now or when the other languages will be added (can take another year)?
Will the installation of WPML change permalinks which means I have to write 301 for the whole existing website after activating WPML? What’s your experience/tip/advice?
Hello,
the lanaguges can be added later and it won’t affect your existing content. For example if you have a page called “About us” and you add Spanish, a new page will be created (it can be entitled, for example “Sobre nosotros”) with the URL like this: yourdomanin.com/es/sobre-nosotros
I represent an event venue and UNESCO World Heritage Site. We would like to implement WPLM CMS plugins on our sites. Is there a possibility to acquire username and password for a trial period of 14 or 30 days for testing purposes on our sites?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
All the best,
Marketing & Customer Service Specialist
Hello Lukasz,
Thanks for your interest in WPML. We don’t have any free trials but our refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days. Please note that during that probation period you can ask technical questions in our support forum. If it turns out that you are not completely happy with WPML, just fill out this form and we will give your money back.
Dear Madam and Sir,
As an UN international organization, we are not subject to VAT and do not have any VAT ID. Could it be possible to have a special link for credit card online payment without VAT?
Thanks for your return.
Best regards.
Hi! Mi website is about to be register but before I would like to make it multilingual, question. My webdesigner is already in the trial for you product but we are not understandin if this plug does automatic translations and if it does how it is ? We are a little confused about that. Thank you
We’re considering of buying WPML. I have one question. Our website is English and most of the content will be translated to Thai language except for our Nursing program which will be all in Thai. All the faculty program will show on the english website, but when a user clicks the Faculty of Nursing page, it should only show the Thai language pages. Can this be done with WPML?
Actually we don’t want to skip it. Let’s say i’m on the english website, and i click the Faculty of Nursing (has Thai only), it should show the pages of the Faculty of Nursing in Thai only. So whether i’m in the English on Thai version, it will only show the Thai text. Am i making sense? 🙂
It’s also possible because we have the “duplicate” feature, which allows you to display the same content for both languages (if this is what you need) and you do this for individual pages/posts.
I am currently using qtranslate-x. If I want to migrate to WPML, how easy is the process? is there a built-in function to do that? or do I need to input the contents one by one again?
Secondly, I am using mailster newsletter plugin. Qtranslate-x conflict with this plugin. I cannot save a campaign. Is WPML compatible with Mailster Newsletter plugin? If it is not compatible would there be any support to resolve the incompatibility?
Hello Sandy,
We have an importer for qtranslate-x https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/qtranslate-importer/. We have started to work with Mailster author to achieve full compatibility but have not completed it yet. In any case, you will be able to ask for help from one of our supporters at the forum if you need it. You are also welcome to try WPML for 30 days and see how it works. If it does not suit yout needs we will refund you https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/.
i want to buy wpml plugin. But before puchase i want to confirm one thing.i need wpml add’ons like( Wpml media tranlation,WooCommerce Multilingual & etc)Actully my site is woocommerce based. These addons are included with package or not? if not then how much cost of total package included these add on’s.Please reply as soon as possible.
I have a question. I am running a ProPhoto website on a WordPress platform. My website is in English and German. Right now the different languages can be selected because I have two dropdown menus. One in English, one in German. But I rather would like a website where you can toggle between languages so English speaking clients only see the English version and German speaking clients only see the German version. All my pages are already build, designed and exist in both languages. So would your product help me to toggle between the languages? My main concern is that I don’t want the URLs of my pages to be changed. My SEO is pretty great and I would afraid to mess with that if I change URLs. Like Polygram adds an EN or a DE for the different languages into the URL. Can you help? How would I go about that?
Hello Sascha.
How many pages/posts do you have? If you want to keep your current URLs that might be tricky. Do you use any pattern for languages for a given language URLs for example yourdomain.com/de/something for German? and yourdomain.com for English (or the other way around). If so, it wouldn’t be a problem but of course you would need to create connections between your posts and pages to tell WPML which post is a translation of which. You can also consider some redirections but I’m not sure what kind of URL structure you currently have.
I’m sorry if I post this twice but it seems like my first question wasn’t posted or deleted. I have an existing WordPress Blog that I wrote in English and German. Right now I go between languages by having separate drop down menus. But I would like to use your plugin so I can toggle between the languages. The issue is that all the pages already exist in German as well as English. They have their own urls. So is there a way to not mess with the urls and add ‘de’ for German and ‘en’ for English but Lee the urls as is?
For example instead of:
Main language
mysite.com/myquestion
German Translation
mysite.com/de/myquestion
Could I use the existing urls/Pages like this:
Main language
mysite.com/myquestion
(url already existing)
German Translation
mysite.com/meinefrage
(URL already existing)
I’m concerned that if i mess with the urls it will have an influence on my SEO and also I would need to delink all the pages on websites where I posted because now the urls have changed.
I would buy this plugin in a heartbeat if the above solution is possible. Or if you have another solution that would work.
I have purchasesd this plugin and I added my UK VAT no and yet I’ve still been charged TAX??? Why is this? Also the Tax Invoice is in dollars not GBP so how can I add this in GBP to my records?
Hello Sean,
I am afraid we cannot issue partial refunds. Please submit a refund request here and I will process it soon afterwards https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/. You can then place a new order with your VAT number and you will not be charged for it.
Your invoice states VAT EU196000846 however this does not exist, usually the VAT number starts with the country code of the country of registration ie GB, FR etc. Please advise asap as your invoice does not make sense having Hong Kong Address and EU VAT number that is invalid.
Hello Sean,
Our VAT number is ok. We are based in Hong Kong but need a EU VAt number to sell to EU users. More info here https://wpml.org/2015/01/vat-eu/
Hello Joy,
this is how it works now (you buy the CMS version and later on you can upgrade to the Lifetime subscription for the difference in purchase price) but please note that we have plans to change our subscription model in the nearest future so I cannot promise that you will be available to upgrade to the Lifetime.

Hey David, WPML is compatible with YOAST and we use this plugin ourselves here at wpml.org. We have this documentation page https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/using-wordpress-seo-with-wpml/ but we don’t have any case studies.

Hello, sorry, you cannot.
Hello,
I would buy WPML unlimited for my company. Is it posible using one license for two different website?
Thanks in advance

Yes, each license can be installed on as many sites as you need.
Olá, gostaria de saber se consigo testar esse produto antes de comprar e se a versão Multilingual Blog $15, é compatível com o plugin ACF ?
Hello, I wonder if I can test this product before buying and if the Multilingual Blog version $ 15, is it compatible with the ACF plugin?
Hello Ederton,
We do not have free tests but you can try WPML for 30 days and if you are not happy we will refund you https://wpml.org/purchase/. We are compatible with ACF. More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/. You will need the CMS version, instead of the Blog.
Kind regards,
Sim, mas posso pegar a versão mais barata?
Yes but you will not be able to translate ACF as it requires modules which are included in the CMS version.
Hello dear WPML-Team,

Great, thank you! If I understand correctly then the permalink of the main language will remain and get not a sub directory.
Main language
mysite.com/myquestion
Translation
mysite.com/de/myquestion
Correct?
Thank you so much!
Exactly!

I have replied to your other message. WPML does not make automatic translations. More info here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/
Does this plug in does authomatic translations? If yes how does it work because I am in a trial and can’t understand how to do it .
Hello Camila,
WPML does not make automatic translations.
Best,
Buenas!
Saludos!

Dear Zuzana,
I’m sorry but we no longer have this offer. You would need to buy WPML as all other customers.
Hello,
yes, WPML lets you have pages without translation. You just need to decide what to do in such case. This is being done in WPML settings:
https://wpml.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/setup-wpml.png
If you choose “Skip language” it means that the language switcher won’t appear on these pages.
Hi Agnes,
Actually we don’t want to skip it. Let’s say i’m on the english website, and i click the Faculty of Nursing (has Thai only), it should show the pages of the Faculty of Nursing in Thai only. So whether i’m in the English on Thai version, it will only show the Thai text. Am i making sense? 🙂

Yes, it’s possible. You will need to set up the language codes manually in WPML language table: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/.

Hello,
Will I be able to translate the homepage of my website (benchmarket.pl) to another language in basic (Blog) version?
The theme support (Themely) suggest using string translations.

Hello,
If you need the String Translation module you will need the CMS version. I am afraid the Blog version doees not include this module.
