  1. Dear Support,

I wonder that is there any trial versiyon like for 15 days, before purchase the WPML plugin. It’s our intention to be sure the plugin run well on my website. After that i want to buy?

    • Hi, we have a 30 days trial period no questions asked policy – you can try out WPML for 30 days and if you are not happy with it you can get a full refund.

  2. Hi, I want to purchase this plugin. Just have a few questions. If I’m building someone a website, do they need to buy this, or can I buy it and use it for their site? Also, is it possible to use this product on multiple sites I am working on for myself as well as other people?

    Thanks for your time

    • Hello John,
yes, you can buy WPML and use for other sites. If you choose the Multilingual CMS package you can use WPML on three websites. If you need to register more websites, you will need the Multilingual Agency subscription. You can buy the Multilingual CMS package first and upgrade to the Multilingual Agency later for the difference in purchase price.

  3. Hello, I ‘m interested in buy the agency version of plugins, and use for the future websites.
Can I use it to any number of sites I will have?
I tried to redeem a discount code, but it’s not working. Because it was one of reasons for buy your plugin, have you any discount code disponible for the most expensive plugin ? Is it possible to exclude VAT for EU buy?
    Thanks

    • Hello,
yes, you can use the Multilingual Agency package on any number of sites, no limits here. About the discount code – where did you get it from? Please let us know and we will check it out. We don’t have any coupons but some of our affiliates and/or bloggers do. You’d need to look around. Yes, you can enter your European VAT number on checkout and VAT won’t be added.

    • Hey.
I have a problem with renewing the license and I wanted to buy the next license for the new domain (Multilingual CMS), but when ordering I can not enter the VAT number and there is an error. I can only enter 4 numbers instead of 12.

  4. I am in the process of changing a dev site to Multilanguage, however I have a landing page that visitors can select the language first. This is per stakeholder requirements. Can I use a variable to change the language? I have light development questions, but I am seriously considering using WPML but I need to know it will accomplish this tasks first and that it will fit my use case.

  5. Hallo,
    i would like to ask:
i have made a website with unyson page builder and i would like to ask if your plugin is compatible with unyson page builder before i buy it.
    Thank you very much.

  6. Hi,
I still couldn’t resolve the problem of the site key of Monday, February 11, earlier this week. The password is OK, and I found my site key. Thought I would see it under “Account,” but it is under “Sites.”
The problems that remain is that I can’t update to the latest version (on the plugin page). I sketch the history again and in more detail: I bought WPML some weeks ago but asked for a refund afterward because of changing to a multisite.structure.
Due to many problems, I came back to a single multilingual site by reverting from a backup (with the help of a professional developer). So I rebought WPML earlier this week, but as I wrote, I couldn’t update. It was still the WPML plugin that I installed previously. It was still there because it was in the backup. So I downloaded the newest version of WPML but seeing that the old one was still there. I deleted this. Then I discovered that all the drafts of my posts had gone. So I reverted to the version of last Monday.
But I can’t update: under WPML Media, WPML Multilingual CMS and WPML String Translation, there’s the following message: “You must have a valid subscription in order to get upgrades or support for this plugin. Purchase a subscription or enter an existing site key.” When I click the link, I’m redirected to the “Commercial” tab of the plugins with the following message:
“Subscription expired. You need to either purchase a new subscription or upgrade if available. Revalidate subscription
If you have already purchased or renewed your subscription and you can still see this message, please revalidate your subscription.”
Revalidate doesn’t help, so I’m stuck here.
So my question is: how can I update or renew the WPML plugins? Or how can the earlier installed WPML plugin recognize my site key?

  7. Hi,

I was wondering how WPML works. Does it make a new page? Or is it just the translation of the content within the same page?

We have a website that already has many pages and images. So it would be nice if the translated parts will be as small as possible.

    Thanks!
    Janneke

  8. Hi,

I have a client who will have a store located in Canada, but needs it to be intepreted in multiple chinese dialects. I need to understand this a bit. How do the interpreters that you work with work? I am working on a quote for my client. Is there someone I can set up a call with to get some direction on how these works?

    • Hello Amy,
WPML provides the interface to make your site multilingual. Technically, it means that you will see new buttons and screens in your WordPress site to translate your pages etc to other languages. But the translations won’t happen automatically. There are a few ways to translate your content. You (or some of your site’s editors) can translate everything manually, another option is to send your content (you can choose what) to one of the professional services we are integrated with (each of them has their own pricing) or if you would like to take advantage of machine translations, you can use the Advance Translation Editor we provide, which include such an option (we provide some quota for free, then you’d need to pay). My point is that making a site multilingual is a two-fold process. #1 to set it up (select the languages, insert the language switcher etc) and #2 to translate the content. When working on the first part you can set up different versions of Chinese (Chinese Hong Kong, zh-hk; Chinese Taiwan zh-tw – I’m not the expert) but then you will need to choose the way how you translate the content (you can always use several methods).

      I hope it help.

  9. Hi, I’m currently considering moving over to WPML from Polylang but I have some concerns regarding the transfer.

    1. I have a website that comes in two langauges (English and Japanese). How easy is the process to uninstall polylang and install wpml and move everything over? Is there documentation on that?

    2. Will articles, tags, categories, menu’s be linked automatically or do I have to do everything manually? Is there an easy solution for that?

    3. let’s say I use the plugin for one year. But after a year change my mind. What will happen after that one year ends, and I dont renew, will all content be lost?

    4. I currently use wp google maps plugin, is that also supported?

    5. anything else I should be aware about when considering to move from polylang to wpml?

    Thank you

    • Hello Giuliano,
thanks for your interest in WPML.

      1.
We have a plugin (developed by one of our developers who is a former user of Polylang) that allows you to migrate from Polylang to WPML.
      https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/migrate-polylang-wpml/

      2. No, you will need to set these up manually. The plugin will migrate just posts and pages.

      3. You won’t lose anything and your WPML plugin(s) will continue working fine. But you won’t be able to ask questions in our support forum and access future versions.
      4. The list of third-party plugins tested by our Compatibility Team is here: https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/ Other plugins might work as well but we’ve never tested them.
      5. Please have a look at the page I’ve shared above. In case of any issues, you can ask our support help.

  10. Dear WPML supprot group,

    • We haven’t tested the Addifier theme before, but that doesn’t mean it wont work.
We can help you with any problems in our support forum and remember you have 30 days to ask for a refund if things don’t work for you.

I would like to recommend you a feature that was added in WPML 3.9 that works very well with classified sites:
      https://wpml.org/2018/01/wpml-3-9-released/

  11. Hi,

  12. Hello,
if now i decide to buy WPML to translate the site in France and in English (right now the site is in italian language), I will be able to translate in a second time, that is in the future, my site in another language, for example dutch?
Or I have to choose the languages in the initial setting moment?
    Thanks
    Manlio

  13. Hello, I will built a website for someone else and I have few questions.

    1. The website will be on a test site URL until it’s ready to go online, so it needs to be migrated to anther host and will run under another URL. I saw in the installation video that I have to type in the URL of “my website” to use the plugin. But later it will be another URL, not the test site’s. Can I transfer it to the final URL later or is that supposed to be the 2nd website? Also is that possible at all. And could I transfer the purchase of the plugin to the website owner later, so he can use the support and continue paying the yearly fee?
    2. Is the way to go about it to built a website in a default language and after it’s complete set up all other languages or is it better to set up all languages first?

    Thank you!

  14. Greetinsg WPML,

My name is Justin Henson and I represent the Amazon Rescue Center in the Peruvian Amazon. The Amazon Rescue Center is a Peruvian Non-Profit Organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of the endangered animals of the Amazon, such as the Amazonian Manatee and the Pink Dolphin, both of which are critically endangered species. You can learn more about our organization here: http://www.amazonrescuecenter.org/

I am contacting you because we are attempting setup Multiple Domain Mapping with a multi-language site so that we can reach a larger audience about our work with these critically endangered species. However, it has been brought to our attention that our free PolyLang plugin is not compatible with this configuration, and after reviewing several forums, your plugin came highly recommended as a resolution to our problem. https://wpml.org/2016/04/use-wpml-different-domains-per-language/

Unfortunately, we are not able to make this upgrade because we are an organization that is solely dependent donations, and our operating expenses to feed and take care the animals is very expensive. We are seeking a possible partnership with WPML in the way of a In-Kind donation for the latest version of the WPML plugin so that we can setup Multiple Domain Mapping with a Multi-Language site. We would be very honored and grateful if your organization would be willing to make such a donation, and we would be willing to put your organization’s name at the bottom of our website (i.e. Translated by the WPML Plugin by wpml.org)

On the behalf of the Amazon Rescue Center, I want to thank you kindly for your time and consideration in our request, and we wish you and your organization all the best in your future endeavors.

    Sincerest Regards,

    Justin Henson

    • Hi Justin, thanks for reaching out, I am afraid that we do not have anymore a non-profit license option. I hope you are able to gather the resources to upgrade and if you do and stay with us I can personally make sure we will help with any technical issue you might encounter, the cause is definitely something I personally support and I know many of us do, so this can be our way to help you.

  15. Dear Amit,

We already have translated pages on our website in English and Spanish.

    For example:

    English: http://www.centroderescateamazonico.com/en/home

    Spanish:
    http://www.centroderescateamazonico.com/es/inicio

Can WPML link these pages together without any automated translation or having to create new pages in order to link the English page to the Spanish page when the language switcher is selected?

If so, how is this done?

    Many thanks,

    Justin

    • Hi Justin,

Yes, you should be able to mark them as being a translation of the other. If you need help to set that up please open a new ticket in our support forum.

      Thanks!

  16. Ciao,
Another Question before i pay for it, please:
Can I translate my site and publish it only after the translation is finished? and if it’s yes, how i’ll be able to do that?
Hope the Question is clear to understand.
    Thanks so much
    Manlio

    • Hi Manilo,

Yes, this is possible, there’s an option that lets you completely hide content in specific languages from visitors and search engines, but still view it yourself. This allows reviewing translations that are in progress.

This option is located in the Lnaguage setting.

  17. I’m disapointed with WPML support.
I buy the plugin, but don’t have access.

    01. Forgot password don’t work.
When a try to change password, site return error after submit email, showing “The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function. ”

    02. Site don’t have any contact withou login. I my case, without access, i can’t create forum support post.

    03. Unique way to talk is this “pre sale form”, but i sent message without response.

I need to access account, waiting WPML help…

    • Hello Tiago,
      Thank you for your feedback.
      1. When you last contacted us about it, I asked you to use our contact form to report that issue. I understand you did so and you didn’t get any reply. ok, I’ll check it out.
      2. We have this contact page: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
      3. I’ll check that one with the person who receives the form submission.
I’ll also ask our admins to double check your account but as I explained in my previous reply if indeed the cause of your problems is the mail() function disabled on your server you won’t get any email notifications from us. Let me double check your case with our admins.
      We apologize for the inconvenience.

  18. Hi,
I am using a WordPress theme with content in two languages – I have about 250 posts in German (main language) and of those, about 50 have an English translation. I used qtranslate in the past but then switched to QTranslate-XT. Because my theme (it has a page builder) does not work with qtranslate-XT, I am considering switching to WPML.
Two issues – I do this in my spare time and do not earn any money with my blog. On the contrary, it costs (hosting, theme etc). I would have to use your multilingual CMS version for the page builder, meaning further investment of 79 $ and then 59 $ every year – it seems a bit much considering I am writing few posts and translating even fewer of them. Any ideas?
Second issue – if I decided to switch to WPML, how would I go about it? I have not found any information whether the WPML importer works with Qtranslate-XT, only with QTranslate. If it doesn’t, how could I strip my posts from QTranslate-XT tags and then import them properly into Qtranslate?
    Thanks in advance,
    Claudia

      • Hi Agnes,
no, we are talking about Qtranslate-XT. The developer of qtranslate-x (without the t) gave up the project. Since about July 2018, it has been developed further by the community and is now called qtranslate-xt – see https://github.com/qtranslate/qtranslate-xt. I have installed qtranslate-xt on my blog, but it does not work with a page builder, which my theme requires. So because of the support of page builders, I assumed I had to use the “Multilingual CMS” version of WPML.

This is why I asked – the article about your plugin “qtranslate-to-wpml-export” only mentions qtranslate-x, not the XT version. Maybe you can look and it and see if the plug-in can be adapted to qtranslate-XT?
        Best regards,
        Claudia

        • Thank you Claudia,
Thanks for explaining what the Qtranslate-XT is. I’ve consulted it with our developers and they say that the qTranslateXT was never tested and the migration plugin I’ve mentioned doesn’t apply to Qtranslate-XT (you cannot use it). So we don’t have anything to offer you in terms of automatic migration, I’m sorry.

And you are right. If you have any content created with popular page builders, which you want to translate to other languages, you would need the CSM package.

        • Hi Claudia,
it turns out that the Qtranslate-XT is a fork (copy with modifications) of qTranslate X. Our developers say that it might work (but we’ve never tested it). If you know how to make a copy of your site, you could give it a try. You can also hire one of WPML consultants to help you with the migration. https://wpml.org/contractors/

      • Hi Agnes again,
it is a bit unfortunate that one does not get any feedback after submitting a comment. There is no message whatsoever, so I did not know whether the comment had been received correctly.
        Thanks for your help,

  20. Hi,
I need to translate website content to 6 languages.
Did you support translating website with you or a third part partner

    Thanks

  21. Hello,

I’m considering purchasing WPML, but I need it for a very specific things – I have some Widgets that should be displayed in different languages (don’t need machine translation, just the option to display a certain widget depending on the language its content is in) and it seems that the Widget logic plugin that I need to do this supports only WPML. Is the Multilingual blog pacakge sufficient to do this, or should I go for the Multilingual CMS option?

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered before, it’s a long thread. 🙂

    Thanks,

    Jakov

    • Hello,
the Blog package should suffice in this case. If needed, you can upgrade to the CMS one later, please note that you can do it for the difference in purchase price. You will find a link to upgrade in your WPML account.
