  1. Hi,
Our LMS site stack is primarily WordPress, Divi, Learndash and Uncanny Owl.
We want to offer our courses in different languages.
The course content will in most cases be translated by native speakers.
We want the course student to select their preferred language and then all the content, menu items, buttons and links will be in the selected language.
Can you confirm that WPML can work with our LMS stack in this way?
    Thank you,
    Foggy

    • Hello, thank you for your interest in WPML.
      – Divi is compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/theme/divi/ – but it is important to note there are some known issues with workarounds. The documentation in the listing should also be followed carefully.
      – LearnDash is compatible with WPML: https://wpml.org/plugin/learndash-lms/ – but it is important to note this plugin needs to be translated manually. The documentation in the listing should also be followed carefully.
      – Regarding Uncanny Owl, we need to know which specific add-on(s) is being used. Then we can check for compatibility.

  2. Hello, I would like to ask if I purchase the plugin WPML with Multilingual CMS package, after one year do I have to renew the purchase for the sites I finished building? In other words, I developed a site and added WPML to it and finished its development and it was uploaded to the network. Do I have to pay every year 59$ to renew the Plugin, or is the renewal only if I want to add the plugin to a new site? I mean, if I do not do the annual renewal, the plugin remains active on the same site, or is it deleted?

    A lot of thanks.

    • Hi Mohammad,
If you don’t renew you will lose updates and support and will not be able to register new sites either,
The translation of your site will remain the same.
      More details here https://wpml.org/purchase/
See Question .06 What happens if I don’t renew?

      Kind regards,

  3. Hello,

I have received an email saying that I can renew my subscription at the discounted rate of $59.00.
When I click on the link to renew it, the total price is still $79.00.

Could you please tell me how to get the discounted rate of $59.00?

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards,

    Louis

    • Are you sure you are logged into your WPML account when clicking on this link? If you are logged in and still it doesn’t work as you would expect, please let us know and I’ll ask our admins to look into it.

  4. Hi Agnes, Thank you for your response to my question. We will install the plugin on a staging site to test if it works for us.
    All the best,
    Foggy

  5. 1. about Multilingual CMS, the automatic translation will be done in the whole website (in all pages) of an eshop or i must go in every page of eshop ?
    2. The Multilingual CMS supports one website?

  6. Hello Agnes,

Yes I am well connected and yet it shows 79 as the price.
So please take a look at it from your side.

    Thank you for your help,

    Louis

    • Hi Louis,
Mercedes from the Admin team here. Let me take a look at your account and get back to you. I will contact you via email directly.

  8. Im looking to purchase however we dont use/have Paypal. That seems to be the only payment option you offer. Who can i speak to about making purchasing a more standard/normal way?

    • Hello,
you can also pay with a credit card. On the checkout page click the last option “Use a different payment processor” (the thrid option below that big orange button that says “Place order”).

  9. My previous comment was deleted for some reason. Im trying to find a way to purchase your plugin without using PayPal, we dont have anyone that uses Paypal and that looks like the only payment option. Mercedes, Agnes, can either of you please reach out to me and let me know? Please?

    • Hello Rafal,
your comment wasn’t deleted but was awaiting moderation. I have just replied that you can use your credit card to buy WPML.

  10. I only need one Woocommerce site translation, please kindly give me a reasonable price. right now I can’t afford 79$ please kindly help me on this.

    Thanks
    T

    • Hello, do you need to make your WooCommerce site available in more than one language? If so, you need the CMS package and it costs 79$ now (we will increase the price to $99 but if you buy today, the price increase won’t affect you). But if you don’t need to make your WooCommerce store multilingual but your goal is only to translate it to a different language, please check the Loco Translate plugin – it’s free.

  11. Hi guys!

Is this amount, for example 72 USD is for 500 000 words translating or it is monthly payment like subscribtion for these 500 000 words?

How could I check translating quality from english to latvian?

  12. Hello, we have have had the Agency plan but we would like to change it to Multilingual CMS. I can’t find any other contact information where to ask. Our recent renewal for the Agency plan didn’t go through because outdated payment info, but if we update the payment info, will the Agency renew instantly? Could you help us to change our plan to the Multilingual CMS, please. Thanks! 🙂

    • Hello,
we don’t have a downgrade option and we would need to handle your case manually. Let me register a ticket for our admins to help you with this case. I will keep you posted.

    • Hello,
you need to wait until your Agency subscription expires (should happen tomorrow in your case: September 9, 2021) and then you will be able to anew but this time choose the CMS package instead. When being logged in, go to the purchase page and pick the Multilingual CMS package.

    • Hello,
depends on the package you’ll choose. The CMS and Agency packages include all WPML addons. The Multilingual Blog doesn’t.

  13. Hello
If I buy “Multilingual Blog” and after a few months want to buy “Multilingual CMS”, do I pay the full price of “Multilingual CMS” or only the difference between the two plans?
    Thank you

  14. Hi Agnes, I paid for my licence and have the key. I have tried to enter it in a location that at 2. Insert your key and activate automatic updates. When I insert the key and click OK the field returns to blank and there is no indication the key was accepted. Also, if I view the plugin from the plugins menu the associated plugins are still carrying a yellow highlighted note that indicates I should register (I think). How can I tell if I am now properly registered, as there seems to be no indication from within WordPress.

Also, I have had difficulties completing the translation of a couple of pages which seem to “hang” on save. (Smaller pages seem to be fine). I have upgraded the memory settings, what else can I try/who can I ask?

    Kind regards

    Terry

    • Hello Terry,
Thank you for purchasing WPML. Now, when you have a WPML account the best way would be to use our technical support forum for further help (you need to be logged into your WPML account to be able to open a new thread).
Yes, you should get a clear notification that your site has been successfully registered. On your WP site when you are on the wp-admin/plugin-install.php?tab=commercial screen (have a look at your URL) you should see the “WPML is registered on this site.” message. You can see this screen on the screenshots here: https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register

If it doesn’t happen, it means that something is wrong. I will summarize the steps you need to do but if you already did so, I cannot see any other way but to use our support forum for further help.

To register a site you need to go to first go to your WPML account: https://wpml.org/account/sites/ and add your site’s URL. Then, log into your WordPress site, go to Plugins, Add new, commercial tab and click register site. Copy-paste your key.

  15. Hi there,

It looks like you used to offer WPML for free to nonprofits. We are a 501c3 nonprofit and would like to use WPML for our website. Do you offer any kind of NP discounts?

    • Hola Juan Manuel:
Tienes que ir a tu Página de pedidos y desde allí verás un enlace para hacerlo.
      ¿Te sale algún error?

      Saludos!

  16. My website has a rough count of just over 50,000 words. Assuming I use Google Translate my cost could be $17 or $72 (as I would fall between 100,000 and 500,000 credits). My questions are:

    1) Is this cost per calendar month or is it once only translation? I understand that obviously any new content/pages would be chargeable, but I think I understand that if the content doesn’t change then the charge is once only. Can you clarify.

    2) The difference in price is quite substantial – is there anything between 100,000 and 500,000 credits.

    Many thanks
    Holly

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
      1. If your content doesn’t change, your credits will be used just once. Then, you will need credits again only for content (sentences) that have changed, so presumably not that many as in the first month.
      2. No, but after releasing WPML 4.5 we will offer a new feature to buy credits in advance (instead of relying on credit subscriptions) which might be a good option for your case.

  17. Hello,

Have a couple of questions. My apologies if they have been asked before.

    1. We are interested in automatic translations. Is the 2,000 credits included per month per language or total?
    2. Are automatic translations stored locally, as is in our database? Will our search pick up translations? Meaning, if a visitor searches in their language, will the translated (product) page return?
    3. Can you confirm WPML works with Astra Theme and WooCommerce?
    4. We go ahead and purchase “Multilingual CMS”. This covers WooCommerce but we also have to subscribe to credits, correct?
    5. If we don’t add new content and/or if we stay below 2,000 we don’t get charged – correct?
    6. If we add 5,000 words of new content in a given month, are the first 2,000 free?

    Thank you!

    • Hello George,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
      1. it’s per month to be shared between your languages but please note that WPML stores your translations on your WordPress site, which means that you will need many credits when you first translate your site and then, only for sentences that have changed.
      2. In your database. Yes, everything you translated will be indexed by Google because all these translations are permanent (with URLs translated too)
      3. Yes, it works both with Astra and WooCommerce
      4. Correct but if you wait for WPML 4.5 (will be released pretty soon), this additional credit subscription will be no longer needed because we will offer an option to buy credits in advance (as you would buy credits for image stocks) – some clients would like to buy credits this way
      5. Correct
      6. Correct

  18. Agnes,

    Thank you for your reply!

This sounds very compelling. In regards to #2, I meant site search. As is ?s={search_term}. Assume a product titled “Cat”. That’s translated to “Gato” in Spanish. If a user searches on our site for gato so that ?s=gato, will the product page return? I assume it will as you are storing the translations in our database – just want to make sure.

    • Hello George,
yes, WordPress’s built-in search (?s=) will work out of the box. When used in your primary language (say it’s English for example yoursite.com/?s=cat) it will return the English pages in your search results. If you do the same in your secondary language (yoursite.com/es/?s=gato) it will return a list of pages in Spanish that include the gato keyword. Of course, the search itself comes from WordPress. WPML only makes it search the appropriate part of your site. Yes, WPML translations are stored in your WordPress database.

  19. Hello,

Could you please let me know how you count the active websites for a licence? We plan to use wordpress as a backend for our application and we would need it to be accesible on multiple subdomains, something like:

    mainsubdomain.domain.com
    subdomain1.domain.com
    subdomain2.domain.com
    subdomain3.domain.com

All the maintenance/management of the content would be done through the mainsubdomain, the secondary ones are used just used to load posts through the rest API. The same wordpress instance would be behind all subdomains.
Is this counted as a single website or not?

Also we need to maintain a test platform for our application which obviously has a different wordpress instance behind but the subdomains are something like “testsubdomain1.domain.com” where “domain.com” si the same as for the prod instance.
Can we use the same licence?

    Best regards,

    • Hello Bogdan,
if this is the same WordPress instance behind all these subdomains (like WordPress Multisite), you need to use only one registration key. You need one key per WordPress installation. In addition, for each production key, we allow registering 3 development sites. So if you buy the Multilingual CMS (3 sites) you can actually use WPML on 3 productions and 9 (3×3) development sites.

  20. Hi WMPL Team,

    please I have presales question.

    Websites you can register
    Multilingual Blog : 1
    Multilingual CMS : 3
    Multilingual Agency : UNLIMITED

What does it mean if I have one WP installation and 5 diferent languages at other domains? Need I register each language domain?

    Best regads

    Tibor

    • Hello, you register your WordPress sites (WordPress installations) not languages. You can add as many languages as you want within a single site. If you plan to use different domains per language, again, you need to register only the main domain.

  21. Hello,

    Best regards,

  22. Can I choose to use DeepL for some page translations (our most important ones) and Google translate for others?

From the knowledgebase it seems that I can choose a number of pages to translate using DeepL and then go in and change the translation choice to Google translate and then add to the queue thus not affecting those pages that have already been translated using DeepL.

    I hope this makes sense.
    Many thanks in advance
    Holly

    • Hello,
yes, you can, but you cannot translate them all at once. Your guess is correct: you need to change the priorities of translation engines in WPML settings to make sure that DeepL is the first one, you need to pick the pages you want to translate with DeeL, translate them and then go to WPML settings again, switch the translation engines order to set Google first and then translate the other pages. No, it won’t affect the pages that have already been translated using DeepL.
