    • Hello Jo,
the migration plugin doesn’t handle WooCommerce. If your site uses WooCommerce and you would like to switch to WPML, the best way would be to set it again on a fresh site that doesn’t have the database messed up with the qTranslator plugin. The work you request is considered custom work and cannot be provided by our supporters buy you can hire one of our contractors: https://wpml.org/contractors/

  1. Hello,

I have a question regarding my WPML subscription. My subscription expired on 12 Aug 2021 and my account is also expired. But now we want to renew my subscription with the same old account. Can you please help me with this? how can I renew my subscription with the old account?

  2. If we enable Pay as you go Automatic Translation will it start to translate everything?

If so, how can I prevent this. We want to do some testing before committing to WPML, however cannot risk translating the 10,000,000+ words.

    • To prevent auto-translating your whole site without your control, please choose in WPML settings (or in the WPML wizard) “Translate some” instead of “Translate everything”. This will allow you to do some testing only on selected pages. You can switch to Translate everything later on.

  3. Hello,

I bought “Multilingual CMS” package. I have licenses for 3 websites. Is there a possibility to buy a license for another one?
What is the procedure for such a thing?

    Thank you!

    • Hi!
You will need to upgrade to the Agency version in this case.
We have the CMS for 3 sites, or the Agency for unlimited.

You can log in to the account and you will be able to upgrade for the difference only.

      Kind regards,

    • Hello, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

    • You need to log into your WPML account, then navigate to “Register WPML on your sites” and register your site.

  4. Thanks for your reply, so you would say that you then have a custom languages for all the different countries? So one english for the us and one for the UK and then with the same texts?

    Hope to hear from you.

    Kind regards,

    Coen

  5. Hi,

how shall I place an order if I would like to pay by wire transfer on behalf of the company? Also, as our company in not VAT payer in Lithuania, can you issue an invoice without a VAT tax as we will have to double according our legislation. We can provide a support explanation should you require that?

    Thanks,
    Jonas

    • Hello Jonas,
you cannot pay by a wire transfer. You can use PayPal or a credit card (to use a credit card on the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor”, at the bottom of the page, under the orange button, please click on it.). If you provide your European Vat number on the checkout page, you will see that VAT won’t be added. If this doesn’t happen you can contact us directly about this issue via this form: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ Please provide us the VAT number you plan to use. Your form submission will go directly to the person who handles such requests.

  6. Hello, I´m using Paid Member Subscriptions Pro Plugin on my site, it uses dynamically added strings, it´s WPML able to translate those string?

    • Hello Led,
the Paid Member Subscriptions Pro plugin is not on our list of plugins compatible with WPML which means it hasn’t been tested by our Compatibility Team and you might have some issues with translating all the elements from this plugin. Our “String translation” plugin allows you to translate various strings coming from themes and plugins and as long as these strings have been coded/properly localized by the plugin/theme authors by following the WordPress standards, they should be detected by the WPML String Translation module. But I cannot give you 100% “yes” answer now. If you want, you can buy WPML and test it for 30 days keeping our refund policy in mind.

    • Hello,
we don’t offer a free trial but can you tell me a bit more about what you would like to test? If you want to check machine translations and WPML options to translate your site I can grant you access to my test site. If however, you need to check WPML with your setup on your site, the only way to do it is to buy it keeping our refund policy in mind. It allows you to test WPML for 30 days without any risk. Let me know what exactly you would like to test and if my test site would help.

  8. Hi Agnes,
Thanks, I really appreciate your rapid and detailed answer. You asked about the most imortant needs we have. Let’s say we have the following basic and important need and the others come next:

We would like to let our Vendors to enter their product details in their own languages (and NOT using the site default). As the marketplace is multilingual we would need these products to be translated to the language chosen by the visitor (from the list of supported languages). It means, for example, when I’m a visitor and choosing Italian as site language I will find all the matching products – entered in German, English, etc. as well, because the entering language of the Vendor doesn’t count in this case. The listed products and product details, etc. will be displayed in Italian for the Visitor in this case.
We checked the referring WPML documentation (https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/building-multilingual-multi-vendor-marketplace-sites-using-wcfm-plugins-and-wpml/ )
& we checked the available documentation of WCFM, e.g.: https://wclovers.com/knowledgebase/wcfm-wpml/ , but till this time hasn’t found solution or example for this requirement.
Please assist us, where to find them, what is your experience regarding this usecase and how to proceed with this.
    Thank in advance, Norbert

    • Thank you for describing what is most important to you. I will check with my team and will let you know. Thank you for your patience.

    • Hello Norbert, after consulting your case with my team here’s what we have for you:

The product will be added on the front-end in the language that the vendor selected. E.g. If I’m a vendor and I have the Italian language active when I add a product, the product should be added to Italian.

However, the translation to other languages should be done by the site admin, as we mention in our doc (https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/building-multilingual-multi-vendor-marketplace-sites-using-wcfm-plugins-and-wpml/#building-multilingual-woocommerce-sites):
It is important to note that vendors cannot translate all of the WooCommerce elements themselves, including products. Vendors can only translate the content on their store page, such as the store descriptions and policies. We cover this under the translating the vendor Store page section.

In order for the visitor to see the product in the selected language, it must have been translated by the site admin beforehand.

  9. Hello,

I’m designing a website with 2 languages: Italian and English; I would like people to automatically see the website language based on their browser language BUT when users language is missing (neither English or Italian) I would like they to automatically see the website in English.
I hope everything is clear. Is that easy to set with WPML?

    Thank you!

    • Hello Giorgio,
Sorry if I am overlooking a previous comment from you, but I did not find anything posted before with your email address.
What would you like to do?

  10. Hi,

I need to buy a license for my company but we don’t have a VAT nr because there is no VAT on our islands. There is no option to buy it without vat on your page. please advise me on that.
If you could make a custom order or something that will be great.
    thanks

  11. a client of ours has your plugin on their website and it needs to be updated however we don’t know under which email address we registered the plugin to retrieve the activation key, because we can’t get a hold of the previous design company… the website is http://www.nanantravel.com

  12. Hi
    I have 2 questions
    1. I want to get invoice how do i add the vat Number
in this format: 00000000 (only Numbers) or this EL0000000???
    2. How do i renew my membership manual????? where i go?

    • Hello,
      1. Both should work. You will know if it works by watching how the price changes as soon as your VAT number is inserted. The VAT 23% part will be gone from your order summary.
      2. It will be done automatically after the first year if you don’t cancel it. You will get two email reminders about it.

  13. Hi there, Im interested to purchase the CMS plugin ($99) but when I proceed with the process of filing my information I only get a PayPal option that requires me to create a PayPal account. Do you have any direct use of card option in order to save the hassle with PayPal? Thanks

    • Yes, you can use your credit card. On the “checkout” page you will see a link entitled “Use a different payment processor” (at the bottom of the page, under the orange button). Please click on it.

  14. Hi, I’m thinking of incorporating WPML into a client’s site (www.opc.gob.ar). Before I would need to know two things:
1 – The payment what I made is a subscription that must be renewed every year?
2 – Can it be incorporated into any site that has been used with Polylang before?

    • Hello Juan,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
      1. If you want to get updates and have access to our support then yes. You will pay 75% of your initial price for the next year. You can cancel your subscription at any time and keep using WPML plugins on your site.
      2. Yes, but please don’t use both. If you want to keep your existing translations that were created with Polylang you might want to use this migration plugin: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/migrate-polylang-wpml/
When installing WPML please select the “Translate some” mode instead of the “Translate everything” because the Translate everything option will start translating your site immediately and you need to switch to WPML in a controlled way.
A hint: if you know how to make a copy of your site (or your hosting provider can do that for you), I would recommend testing the migration on a copy first.

  15. I’ve been told to

“To prevent auto-translating your whole site without your control, please choose in WPML settings (or in the WPML wizard) “Translate some” instead of “Translate everything”. This will allow you to do some testing only on selected pages. You can switch to Translate everything later on.”

But I don’t see this option in my WPML Settings. Any advice on how to find it?

    • WPML > Translation Management > Settings
If you cannot see it and you somehow managed to complete the wizard without being asked about the mode, it means you are using an old version of WPML. We introduced these two modes in WPML 5.0.

  16. ¡Hola!

¿Es compatible con los plugins integrados de Godaddy WordPress administrado y los complementos que reemplazan a esos plugins?

    Gracias.

    • ¡Hola!
no sé qué complementos específicos pertenecen a los complementos de WordPress administrados por Godaddy, pero aquí está la lista de complementos con los que somos compatibles y que fueron probados por nuestro equipo de compatibilidad:

  17. Hello,

We have a print magazine that already has a translator from english to spanish.

I want to but the app to avoid buying a whole website dedicated to spanish readers, but since we already have the post content ready, can you upload the text we have for the posts to translate as we want? we also need the non-post text translated separately.

    • Hello Paola,
since you mentioned a print magazine and you are using the word “app”, please let me make sure you need WPML for your WordPress site. WPML is a set of plugins for a WordPres-powered website. I hope this is your case. My understanding is that you already have the translations ready and you need the following:
      1) set up your site to be in two languages: English (primary language) and Spanish (secondary language)
      2) create translations in Spanish
      3) you want them to copy-paste translations from your external files to your WordPress site
Is this correct? You say “that already has a translator from english to Spanish” which makes me think you need to translate your site from English to Spanish.
The answer its, yes, this is possible but the details and options will depend on what exactly you have and how you would like the process to look like. You don’t say anything about the format of your existing translations. Are these doc files? How would you like to upload/copy these translations? One by one manually?
Please provide me more details and I’ll be happy to present your options. You also say “we also need the non-post text translated separately.” What do you mean by “non-post text”? Can you give me some examples? Thank you.
