  1. Hello, Allison

This is the answer (I have successfully logged in to this page):

“This technical forum is open to paying WPML clients. Buy WPML to gain access.
If you are already logged in, please refresh your browser.”

…That is, they help or communicate at all, only when you pay. At least it looks that way. 🙂

    • Hello,
that’s correct. You need to have an active WPML subscription to get assistance. Please buy WPML and then you will be able to open a ticket on our support forum.

  2. Hi,

Our client site is using another plugin with French option.

The client is interested in Canadian French option and is wondering if your plugin has that.

    Thanks! Tim

    • Hello,
If you are interested in automatic translation for Canadian French, these are not available.
If you look at the table of supported languages:
      https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
you will see that none of the popular translation engines supports Canadian French, only regular French.

WPML allows you to set up your site to use the Canadian French language code (fr-CA – you would need to follow this tutorial) but then you would either provide the translations manually or – if you want to use automatic translations (which can be edited by you if needed) you would need to assign the regular French language to it. This is possible in WPML. I’m not sure if this is sometime you need.

  3. Hi there

We recently purchased WPML (Harry Kounougakis @ Savanta) but our developers are saying that it wont work because they have built the site using a multi-site approach and not a multi lingual site.

With regards to the plugin, their developers have 3 questions that be good if you could clarify:

    1. Do they offer US / UK English translation? We had a quick look and seems to be only “English”?
    2. Can they translate content without the url changing (we take care of this on the multisite) i.e. can the tool just translate the page?
    3. We are using page builder to manage the content – will they be able to translate the content as well from modules

Please can you clarify the above.

    Many thanks
    John

  4. Hi Support,

Wondering about (check there should be compatibility with DIVI en RankMath, question:

    a) what measurements to take upfront
    b) what about the credits, 90.000 multi-language

How are these counted? I translate once. But if changes are made is the original content counted again? so what I mean you pay double?

    c)
I can not figure out, the amount of characters of site (made in DIVI / WordPress en SEO (RankMath?

    Regards,
    Tony

    • Hello Tony,
WPML is compatible both with Divi and RankMath. I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “what measurements to take upfront”.

Using WPML you can translate automatically, manually or use a combination of both. If you translate automatically you can always make edits to automatic translations.
      To answer your question:
“But if changes are made is the original content counted again”

      Suppose this scenario:
      1. You have page A with 30 sentences.
      2. You translate page A to another language for the first time.
      3. Translation credits will be used to translate all your 30 sentences.
      4. You make changes to page A to change 5 sentences.
      5. Page A is translated again using automatic translation (provided you set WPML up this way). Due to the translation memory, WPML will know that it needs to translate only the 5 sentences that have changed. This will consume credits for translating these 5 sentences.

I can not figure out, the amount of characters of site (made in DIVI / WordPress en SEO (RankMath?

We don’t have a tool that would calculate the number of words on your site.

But we do have a calculator that allows you to estimate the cost of your translation. Please visit this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/ and click on How much does automatic translation cost? in the FAQ section.

Please note that you can do the following: when setting up WPML instead of enabling “Translate Everything” that will try to translate all your site’s content at once, you can choose “Translate some” and try to translate only some selected page to see how many credits have been used.

  5. Hello, I am not able to upgrade WPML for my regular prices why ? I am client for years why you increase price for my subscription

    • Hello Mohammed,
thank you for using WPML for so many years. From what I can see in our system logs your subscription has expired because the auto-renewal payment failed on September 22, 2022. Our systems sent a few emails to remind you both about the renewal and the failed payment and you must have missed these emails.
Let me contact you directly to sort out this case. Please expect another email from me, sent directly from my Agnes Bury email address.

  6. Hi Agnes,

    Hello

I have around 10.000 products now…and could be upto 50.000 who are in english or german.

I would like if possible to translate “forever” the products. My site is not multilingual. I mean, I don’t want my customer to press a button for translation. I need directly to see in Romanian. Is possible?

So. I have some categories of products in English, some in German, some in Romanian. My site is only in Romanian. I intend to translate all products in Romanian. Can be done this?

    Thanks
    Alin

    • Hello Alin,
thank you for your interest in WPML.
Yes, in theory, this (” I don’t want my customer to press a button for translation”) is possible if you use the so-called “Translate everything” mode but since your site has so many products plus – and if I understand correctly – you already have a mix of languages on your site it might be tricky. Let me contact you directly via email so I can better understand your set up and scenario. Please expect a direct email from Agnes Bury.

  7. Dear WPML staff,
I am an Elementor user and consider the image widget.

Question: is it possible to have different images per language in this image widget?

  8. Thank you for your reply.

As I see from the list in the link provided the image widget is NOT supported by WPML. This makes sense, as an image is not “translated”.

My question was different. I have read an article somewhere where it does say that it is possible to have different images per language, but it seemed to me that it was referring to the Gutenberg editor.

I reiterate my question: Say I have made my site in the main language with Elementor. Say I use somewhere the image widget. The image must be country specific. Question: Is it possible to change the image using WPML?

As I have never used WPML I know the above question may sound silly, but I ask you nevertheless to be clearcut in your answer: yes or no.

  10. Hello.
Can we buy more extended license by difference in price without changing period of term?
For example if we understand that for us not enough “Multilingual Blog” what is ends in November 2023. Can we buy “Multilingual CMS” for 60$ without changing term of current license (November 2023)?

  11. Hello, WPML team!
    Explain please.
Can we buy more extended license for a difference between price of account types.
For example if we bought “Multilingual blog” with term before November 2023. And suddenly understand it’s not enough to us.
Can we buy “Multilingual CMS” for 60$ without changing term of current license (November 2023)?

  12. hi
can I somehow check your solution on my host? (I checked the polylang but unfortunately it was VERY delayed in loading the page, the page loading time could be up to 25-30s!)
is it possible to check wpml before buying?

    • Hello Piotr,
yes, you can buy you would need to buy WPML keeping our refund policy in mind. I can assign you with other questions – I speak Polish. Let me email you directly.

  13. Hi I want to use your plugin on my website for auto-translation
but I want also a feature that translates the PDF automatically, the feature like the following feature :
    https://neuronto.com

I want to ask if your plugin does include this feature.
is there only an online demo or a Link to check it?

  14. Hello!

Due to certain problems in our country (Ukraine), we have expired the opportunity to renew our subscription and now we have to buy a new one. Can we somehow pay for the renewal and not for a new one?

    • I can see your subscription expired on September 24, 2022 so it’s too late to get the discount, I’m sorry this is how our system works. We send a few reminders (I mean emails) about renewals and also you have automatic renewals disabled. Please consider keeping automatic renewals not to be late again.

  15. Hello!

I know, there are already lots of questions on transferring sites to clients and credits and so on. But still I am unable to check if I understand it correctly.

TL; DR: If I have assigned credits to a site and then transfer the site to my client. Are the remaining credits transferred as well?

Here’s the longer version of my problem as a specific example in several steps. Please correct me on any of those, if I’m wrong.

    1. I buy a Multilingual CMS licence for 99$.
    2. With that I receive 90.000 credits.
    3. Let’s say I assign 60.000 credits for the translation to a website that I create for my client.
    4. I only use 40.000 credits. 20.000 remain assigned to the site, right?
    5. Now I transfer the WPML account on the site that I created in step no. 3 to my client so that he has full control and can renew it for 39$/year.
    6. Do I automatically transfer the remaining 20.000 credits to him? (That’s what I would like to achieve.) Or does he immediately have to use the pay-as-you-go option (or buy a credit package himself) and the 20.000 credits that were “left” are lost?

Sorry for the longwinded question but hopefully that makes my problem clearer.

    Thank you,
    Chris

    • Hello Chris,
      4. I only use 40.000 credits. 20.000 remain assigned to the site, right?
      Correct
      6. Do I automatically transfer the remaining 20.000 credits to him?
You would need to assign the pre-paid/or free credits to his site but. If his site is still registered on your wpml.org, you can do so.

For pay-as-you-go credits it’s different because these are not being assigned in advance – the credit card is charged when a client uses them (provided you entered your credit card in the Automatic Translatoin section of the site)

  16. The problem with the purchase.
Paid the purchase. After payment, immediately dropped out of the site. The money was deducted. I got an invoice in the mail. The invoice reads:
    Your subscription status: Pending.
Instructions for logging into the account and downloading were sent in a separate email.
However, no further emails were sent. How can I get account login and download instructions?

  17. We are working on a new website in WordPress wp.thehagueseedcenter.com. It’s almost finished and we want to translate to Dutch German French Spanish and Italian. We are gonna use subdirectories like thehagueseedcenter.com/de for the German and so on for the other languages. I will translate it myself. And we use Yoast for the SEO ranking in search engines. We want to be found with keywords in the search engines in the different languages. Is that possible with wpml? Do we need to buy the cms package ? And is it also possible to translate the products and the SEO meta descriptions in each language?

  19. Hi!
I need 3 languages on my site: English, Serbian cyrillic and Serbian Latin.
It is possible to use both Serbian languages: latin and cyrillic like different languages?
    Thanks

  20. You promise:

“We guarantee that our products and services:

    Work as advertised
    Are compatible with WordPress”

Now with the latest update of WordPress, sites are offline. Only de-activating WPML helps.
You promise “Our teams works together to solve”
    So where is support now?

As we speak, 2 sites are offline. Critical for our company….
No support tickets possibility found. No phone numbers. No email adresses…
    We are PAYING customers…

    • Hi there – I understand your frustration and apologize for the difficulties regarding WordPress 6.1 and some issues with our website today. We released an update for WPML on Monday to make it compatible with the issues we knew about related to the WordPress release. There was one additional issue in the final WordPress version that we will address in a hotfix release on Monday. You can find more information about it and what to do if you’re having problems with your site after updating to 6.1 here: https://wpml.org/changelog/2022/10/wpml-4-5-12-updates-for-wordpress-6-1/

    • Hello, we released a WPML version that is compatible with WP 6.1 before WordPress 6.1. was released. But many clients missed the announcements and our email about this and didn’t know how to update WPML plugins to see these new versions.

  21. Hai there,

De-activated WPML Strings > site back online
Updated site to WP 6.1 > site is online
Activated WPML Strings > site offline

And now? Is there a solution?
And maybe, as a tip, it should be handy to place this very important and critical information on your website.
So it can help a lot of paying WPML customers and keep them satisfied.
But for now, the sites are broke because I had to keep WPML Strings de-activated to keep them (a little broke) online.

So we wait for a solution.

    Regards Jelle Loosman

  22. Hai there,

After searching with Google over the internet I found the solution.
So the sites are back online.

But maybe, there is a possibilaty to place this very critical information on the FRONT of your website.
So that customers, in deep trouble, see the solution of this problem.
Or maybe a button with the last messages from WPML.
It should help so many customers.

    Friendly regards

    • Thank you for the suggestion. We posted it on our Facebook page, however I understand that not everyone would see that. I’ll share this suggestion with the rest of our team.

  23. Hi Agnes,

    Thanks for the answer understood.

1 more question: What will happen if the original english post https://domain.com/2018/09/best-surf-shoes/ however I publish the new language article today.

will it be this: https://domain.com/de/2022/11/beste-surf-schuhe/ or I need to back date my post? Or change all the old ones?

    So English: https://domain.com/2018/09/best-surf-shoes/
    German: https://domain.com/de/2022/11/beste-surf-schuhe/

Sorry for the question I just wanna make sure that the plugin able to help if u have this “stupid” date in the URL.

    • Hello,
The translation will “inherit” the date of the original post. So both post will have the same date even if you translate/publish the other one later.

    • Hello,
You should be able to upgrade. I will ask our admins to check your case. Would are you trying to do to upgrade? Please let me know what you do. You should be logged into your WPML account and then you should see an option to upgrade.
