Hi Agnes, thank you for your reply. You are correct, we are currently using this version. Our last renewal date was October 2022 as follows.
WPML Multilingual CMS
In checking our dashboard, this is what I found, the site is carefertility.net, so not sure if we’re experiencing issues due to a bug or we need upgrade to a different version. Please advice. Thank you!
Version 4.4.10 | By OnTheGoSystems | Visit plugin site
You are using an unregistered version of WPML and are not receiving compatibility and security updates. Register now
WPML 4.4.10 is a very old version and if you upgrade it directly to 4.6.1 you might have some issues. So the best option for you would be to buy WPML and before updating go to our support forum and ask for assistance with this update.
a) Do my previous translated content still available if I discontinued the subscription after x period ?
b) After setup for auto translation, can I still able to manual translate to overwrite the auto translation if needed ?
c) Do the auto or manual translation apply to header and footer menu, shortcode , plugin such as WPForm, slider, etc …
d) Do the auto translation use neural translations ? A more advanced translation nearly like human translation
e) Can I not publish certain page or closed menu navigation based on certain language ?
For example: my site had two language, EN and FR
Original content is EN with 100 pages, and header / footer menu of 5 section
If user select FR, my site will only display 50 pages, and header / footer menu of 3 section only
Hello,
a) Yes, you can still use WPML on your site and keep your translations even if you cancel your WPML subscription
b) Yes, you can.
c) It depends on the plugin you use. To translate strings from the header and footer sometimes you need to manually select them to apply automatic translations, sometimes you need to translate these fully manually. You would need to check relevant documentation pages for these plugins, for example: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/creating-multilingual-forms-using-wpforms-and-wpml/
d) We connect to DeepL, Google Translate and Microsoft translation engines trough their APIs. DeepL is the default one, you can switch to Google Translate or Microsoft if you want. The translations you will get will be almost identical as you would test them in their online translation toolse, for example: https://www.deepl.com/translator
e) Yes, you can “exclude” some of your pages from translation by not translating them. But in this case, you would need to select “Translate some” mode when setting upi WPML (isntead of “Translate everything”). You can use the “Translate automatically” bulk mode for selected pages but when your orginal page changes, you will need to do it again. There are pros and cons of using these two modes.
You can fully control the navigation. It means you can sect pages A, B, C for English and pages A, C, D for French.
Hello,
Registering and unregistering websites is easy and you can do it multiple times – on your wpml.org site you will see a list of your websites registered and for each you can select if it’s a production or development website.
a) It’s up to you. Both options are correct. The only difference between the production and development tag is that sites registered as “development” will get a banner in the footer and also on your amin screen saying that this is a development ite
b) You go to your WPML account https://wpml.org/account/sites/ and then you can use the delete icon. You can also do this from your WordPress site (PLugins > Add new > Commercial tab and click “Unregister”)
c) Yes, you will need to register it as a production website to get rid of the banner I mentioned in “a”
d) At the next renewal (in a year you if you decide to keep using WPML, you will pay 75% of your initical price). You can also cancel your subscription at any time from your WPML account
e) Registration setup is the last step of the WPML configuration. If you don’t register it, you won’t be able to finish this setup.
Hi, hope you are well, I have a query regarding the Divi theme that I am currently using on my website. Firstly, I would like to know if WPML is compatible with Divi. Secondly, I am curious to understand what you mean by 90,000 credits (words). I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Thank you.
Hello, yes, we are compatible with Divi but there are a few known issues: please check them here: https://wpml.org/theme/divi/
1 credit = 1 word if you use the Miscrofot translation engine. But you need 2 credits to translate 1 word if you use DeepL or Google Translation engine. DeepL is the default one. We connect to use engines via APIs. Here are the supported languages: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs
I am interested in purchasing WPML to work with my website that is developed using Elementor. I was thinking to go ahead with the ‘Multilingual Blog’ instead of ‘Multilingual CMS’ as I will be manually adding the translated content by myself.
Please let me know if I can go ahead with Multilingual blog.
Hello,
The Multilingual Blog doesn’t include the WPML String Translation plugin and the Translate Management panel, which allows you to translate your templates. The String Translation plugin is required to translate some of the Elementor widgets, especially coming from 3rd party plugins and also to translate some of your plugins/themes additional strings (especially if your theme/plugin doesn’t provide translation files – so called “po/mo” files). If you don’t need to use automatic translations and you don’t use Elementor templates, you can start with the Blog packge. To translate invidviual pages and post mmanually, the Blog package should suffice but our recommendation is to use the CMS package for page builders such as Elementor, Divi etc.
Hello, I have a “development” wordpress website using the theme Gwangi and the following plugins, I want my website only in greek, WPML will help me translating every single string in greek so I will not need to edit the plugin code directly? Thanks for your help!

We already have most our pages translated and just want to switch between languages and remember that choice as a person moves through the site. Does WPML do this?
For example, if they choose Espanol, then only the translated pages are shown. But, if a page is not translated, then it delivers the default english language page.
We don’t need to translate pages, only to show specific already translated pages.
Alternatively, with WPML you can choose which pages you want to translate. Then, in WPML > Languages, you have an option in Language switcher options to make that our language switcher points to the homepage when a translation does not exist.
2.this is alico insurance theme. I will create it in english and use wpml to translate it into chinese. So when local people search chinese character the website will show chinese web page correct?
3. do i need to do seo for wpml chinese version? or it will rank itself.
Your theme Alico is not in our compatibility list even if the author says that it is 100% compatible. However it doesn’t necessarily imply that it is not compatible, just that our team has not tested yet. https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Hey, I am representing a non governmental from Poland. I’d like to purchase a WPML Multilingual CMS, but I do need invoice for it. Unfortunately, as a nonprofit, our TAX number in not recognized in your system – we simply do not pay taxes here in PL. And yet, we still need to include the TAX no in every invoice we have as an NGO. Can you add the TAX number later to the invoice from your system or how does it go? Thanks for help! Krzysztof
Hello Krzysztof,
you can edit the VAT number in your WPML account at any time (https://wpml.org/account/account-settings/) and it will appear on your invoice but if you don’t provide the VAT number when purchasing WPML you will pay more. If you want to pay for the WPML without VAT being added please use this form to contact us directly to discuss your issue. It will go directly to the person who can help you with VAT/TAX issues.
Hello, if you need to buy again (after evening logged into your WPML account), it means your subscription expired. I checked your account and indeed your subscription expired on February 16, 2023. You switched to manual renewals and you must have missed your renewal date. We sent you two reminders about this and even one more email informaing about the last chance to renew your subscription after it expired.
We recommend using automatic renewals and this way to won’t forget to renew your subscription on time and you will keep your discounts. Even if you miss the emails we send or if they went to your spam folder.
Hello, no, we no longer have lifetime licenses but renewals are optional. You can cancel your WPML subscription at any time and still use WPML without updates and support assistance.
hello, could you please have your team test if this theme is compatible? this is my last concern, if it is compatible please let me know, I will go ahead purchase your service. thank you
Hello,
I checked your user (with the email address you posted this comment with) and this is the so-called “End user” account. It means that you didn’t purchase a regular WPML account (the CMS type of account that would allow you to install 3 websites) but someone else who purchased WPML transferred his account to you. If you want to use the same email for the normal account, you would need to cancel this subscription and buy WPML again, this time as a normal user. If you need further help with this please use this form to contact us directly. https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
Hi there,
I have an e-commerce website with 300 products. Need few lang versions – please let me know if the blog package would be enough if I only want to translate the products pages (cart let’s say, etc) as the rest has been already translated by me (posts and stuff). I’d like to have a multicurrency too, but no chance to find anything about it in pricing – does blog support multicurrency?
Hello Marta,
do you want our site to be run in more than one language? Do you want to translate your products too (or only some of the texts that appear on the Cart page and other pages). If your plan is t have a WooCommerce store running in at least two languages, you need to buy the WPML CMS package to translate your products. The Blog package will not suffice.
You say that the rest (post and stuff) has been already translated by you. How did you translate these posts? In general, you cannot use two translation plugins at the same time. Yes, the CMS package supports multicurrency too. It’s just an extended version of this free plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/ The free version provides support for multicurrencies but if you buy WPML, you will see options for translaing prodcuts too.
I have the Multilingual CMS, but I need the module for a 4th website. Jumping to the “Multilingual Agency” is too much for us in this moment.
Is it possible to buy a single “Multilingual Blog” and have the same extras like in “Multilingual CMS”? (Like “Advanced translation editor”, or “String Translation”).
Hello,
sorry to say it but no, this is not possible for technical reasons – when a site is registered as with the Blog type of subscription, our main plugin is checking what features to provide.
We have a problem as our previous developer went bankrupt. We are now moving our website and need the site key, but I can’t find it in our account in wordpress. We don’t have a log in to wpml, propably since the prevoius developer that did bankrupt have set everyting up. I can see we have a lifetime account, “WPML is registered on this site. Your Lifetime account gives you updates for life.” What can we do?
Hello,
I checked who registered your website (the website you shared with posting this comment) and I can see that the person has a Lifetime account indeed. But this person still uses WPML for a large number of other websites and one of his other websites was registered recently (in February) which means they still use WPML actively. In that case, we cannot change her email address to yours. You would need to buy WPML for yourself and register it again with your key. You don’t need to uninstall WPML, only change the key.
Hello,
Do you have free version for WPML Multilingual plugin? How i can try plugin features?
Thank you.
Hello, no we don’t. You need to buy WPML to test it. We have a 30-day refund policy.
Hi,
My question is : if the WPML translate site with automatic user language detection on the basis of his browser or IP?
Hello Damian,
your question was waiting for moderation. Please check this https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
Why my questions doesnt show up?

Should we register development license ?
b) how to unregister license if we complete the developing website ?

If you want your website only in one language (Greek), you don’t need WPML at all. You need the Loco Translate plugin which is a free plugin. Please check this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/loco-translate-and-wpml-comparison/
WPML is a plugin for making your website available in at least two languages.
hi
i design website with Html, Css, js and php. is that possible to use your plugin. how can i use it please send video
Hello,
WPML is a WordPress plugin. If your site uses WordPress, you can use WPML too. If your site doesn’t use WordPress, you cannot use WPML.
Hi,
Can I downgrade from Multilingual CMS to Multilingual Blog ? Or, do I have to wait the end of my licence to do that ? Or, do I have to create a new account ?

Hello,
yes, you will need to wait till April 7, 2023 and then you can buy the Blog package using the same account.
Thank you for your response, Could you please clarify this 1 credit = 1 word = 1 language or Multilanguage? how does it work? Do I need to translate each page manually or there is an option to do this automatically?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
1 credit = 1 word if you use the Microsoft translation engine. If you use DeepL (the default) or Google Translate 1 word = 2 credits. You can read more about credits here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
You can translate manually or automatically or mix these two methods.

Marianne, I already replied to your question: https://wpml.org/purchase/pre-sales-questions/comment-page-572/#comment-7134351

Hello Tom,
Sure, you can use your default language as a fallback for untranslated content as explained in our documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-on-pages-in-secondary-languages/#using-the-default-language-as-a-fallback-for-untranslated-content
Alternatively, with WPML you can choose which pages you want to translate. Then, in WPML > Languages, you have an option in Language switcher options to make that our language switcher points to the homepage when a translation does not exist.
Regards
1.please check if this theme is compatible for wpml
https://themeforest.net/item/alico-insurance-agency-wordpress-theme/26053893
2.this is alico insurance theme. I will create it in english and use wpml to translate it into chinese. So when local people search chinese character the website will show chinese web page correct?
3. do i need to do seo for wpml chinese version? or it will rank itself.
Thank you
Hello there,
Your theme Alico is not in our compatibility list even if the author says that it is 100% compatible. However it doesn’t necessarily imply that it is not compatible, just that our team has not tested yet.
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Regarding your second question, WPML does not provide a IP redirection. Instead, it works with a browser language redirection as explained here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/automatic-redirect-based-on-browser-language/
Finally, WPML does not make SEO. Instead, it provides you all the SEO tools for secondary languages, so you can rank you site in other languages.
Regards,
Andrés
Can I buy the CMS version and upgrade to Agency by paying only the price difference?
Hello Denis,
Sure, you can do that directly from your WPML profile.
I hope it helps.

yes, Somali is supported:
