Please answer per email, so I will submit you the site I am talking about.
Hello,
Yes, it would be great to see your website. I cannot find you in our system. I assume that you purchased WPML with a different email address. Let me email you to provide you with the options and ask for the website.

J’ai créé un site web pour un client et j’ai installé le module de traduction GT TRanslate. J’aimerai chnager et désormais utiliser votre module de traduction mais avant ça je voudrai savoir ce que va devenir toutes les traductions que j’ai déjà réalisé avec GT TRanslate une fois que j’aurai désinstallé leur plugin et installé le votre.
Est ce que j’aurai toujours mes traductions ?
Est ce qu’il faudra que je recommence tout ?
Comment faire pour ne pas tout perdre ?
Bonjour,
Vous pouvez importer votre contenu traduit à l’aide de notre plug-in d’importation WPML All. https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-all-import-plugin-website-import-with-wpml/
Si vous ne savez pas comment procéder, je vous suggère de demander de l’aide sur notre forum (après avoir acheté un abonnement) et notre équipe technique vous aidera.
Vous devriez pouvoir conserver toutes vos traductions.
Vous pouvez essayer WPML pendant 30 jours et si cela ne fonctionne pas pour vous, nous vous rembourserons https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/
I created a website for a client and installed the GT TRanslate translation module. I would like to change and now use your translation module but before that I would like to know what will become of all the translations that I have already done with GT TRanslate once I have uninstalled their plugin and installed yours.
Will I still have my translations?
Do I have to start all over again?
How not to lose everything?
Hello,
thank you for providing the name of your theme and the link to its site.
Unfortunately, WPML is not compatible with this theme and it won’t meet your objectives.
Hello Oliver,
You need an active subscription in order to get help from our support team. This is mentioned in our Terms & Conditions page. https://wpml.org/home/terms-and-conditions/
Hello,
I need to translate the content of my flutter app (already published in Google Play Store ‘Medima Store’). The app has the feature of translating to Arabic, but it only translates the menus, not the product’s content to Arabic (name, description, etc.).
Can your plugins be integrated somehow to translate the app content when the user switches the language (from the app itself)?
Hello,
WPML is a WordPress plugin and it’s meant for translating WordPress sites. Our company works on a separate product that will allow you to translate other apps too. This is still under development.
1. Compatibility and Suitability: Will WPML be compatible with our current theme and other installed plugins? (Can I email the system info?)
2. Precautions and Complexity: Are there any precautions or specific steps we should take before permanently making the switch from Translate Press? Considering the complexity of WPML compared to Translate Press, are there any additional considerations or recommendation you can provide to ensure a smooth transition?
For qtn 2 -> would it be good if I set up a staging website and use WPML as the translation plugin? Once all the translations are done, I will launch in ‘live’ site.
Hello,
1. Of course, I will send you an email where you can share this info with me.
2. You cannot use WPML and Translate Press at the same time. You will need to disable TP and retranslate your site using WPML. Yes, you can start on a staging website and then migrate your site.
Hi, Good day to you. I have suggested to my client to switch from Translate Press to WPML. However, the client had some comments. Wonder if you can answer them? Many thanks in advance.

Based in your answers, if I buy the CMS Package I will have 90,000 credits and assuming the same escenario of 1 website with 3 languages ( 1 default + 2 translated) with no blog, or any “active” change of text content (passive website) the cost for the 6,000 words will be around 12,000 credits and if it is like this, the remain of the credits (78,000 credits):
1 – Credits can be use for other website with the domain ?
2- Credits can be use for renewals? or
3- Credits are lost?
Hello Jimmy,
See below:
1 – Credits can be use for other website with the domain ?
Yes, you can assign the remaining credits to any other site registered through your account https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/
2- Credits can be use for renewals? or
When your WPML subscription is due for renewal your credits will remain on your account available for use at any time.
3- Credits are lost?
No.

Hello.
We recently experienced the malware infection of the website and had to restore and migrate it to a different hosting system. In the process we lost WPML plugin and the site owner couldn’t find any traces of his purchase (it has been done over 5 years ago).
However, the website’s WordPress database seems to retain all *icl* tables and the custom translation of the content is in there.
If we buy the WPML license for multi language plugin would we be able to install it on our website and to pick up all existing translations automatically? Will you help/guide us through the process?
Thank you for cooperation and timely answer!
Konstantin
I understand from your description that you have lost the php files in your ../wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms directory, but your site’s database is still intact and unchanged. You now need to know if you restore a copy of the files that are normally in this directory when installing our plugin, if the translated content will then appear.
If this is correct, then the restoration of the plugin files is the same process as if you were to have done a manual upgrade to the plugin. As long as the database settings are untouched, then the restoration of the plugin files should allow you to view your translations as they currently exist in your database.
You MIGHT encounter some issues if you have also changed the domain name. But if you only changed the hosting platform without any change in the URL formats, you should be fine.
You wrote: Will you help/guide us through the process?
Answer: Yes, our support staff should be able to help you. For good measure, always have and save a backup of your site.
Hi there, I was building my client’s website and we will use WPML when the site is built. The client wants to translate all the Traditional Chinses content to English.
The theme and system were English in the first place. When building the site, I added Traditional Chinese into the site content such as the header, menu, footer etc.
As I know, after installing the WPML I will need to determine the primary language. In this case, should I choose Eng or Traditional Chinese? Anything documentation or cautions I have to be aware of? Thanks.
At the time of installation, you should choose the active language you current site content is in. From what you have written, this would be Traditional Chinese. This action will add a language tag of “Traditional Chinese” to all existing user content.
You wrote: “I added Traditional Chinese into the site content such as the header, menu, footer etc.”
If this was done via widgets, then they will also be appropriately tagged when choosing the primary language. If you see that any theme/plugins strings are inappropriately tagged with the wrong language, you can change the language assignment after WPML CMS installation by following this article:
If you, however, added Traditional Chinese content via php templates and hard-coded strings, then you should be sure to scan your theme/plugins after installation and thereafter check that these particular strings are correctly tagged with the correct language. If they are not, you can change them following the above cited article. To see how to scan themes/plugins, please review this article: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/#changing-the-language-of-strings

We need automatic translations to work only for a specific blog page.
The other pages must be translated according to the content entered by the admin panel.
It is possible?
Hello,
yes, you can use automatic translation only for selected pages. In this case, don’t select “Translate Eveyrthing” when setting up WPML.

So that I can purchase the newest WPML against, as soon as possible.

Hello, We have a WordPress Multisite for these country /CA /US /FR /DE , etc. Do we need to use Canonical URL when we have WPML Multi language?
Hello, for regular (one-install WordPress sites) WPML handles canonial URLs according to Google’s recommendation. Feel free to preview the HTML source of this site to see how it works – we use WPML on this site too. For WordPress Multisite I’m not sure what you mean and how your language setup is gonna look like. What do the /CA /US /FR /DE represent? Here’s an example of a WordPress Multisite site using WPML for these two subsites: https://dog-walkers.discover-wp.com/ (with Spanish: https://dog-walkers.discover-wp.com/es/) and https://real-estate.discover-wp.com/ with Spanish https://real-estate.discover-wp.com/es/ and German: https://real-estate.discover-wp.com/de/

Hello,
you need to buy the CMS package ($99) and that’s it. If you have only 3000 words to translate the 90 000 credits we give you in the package for free will suffice to translate your content. In any case, if you need more translatoin credits than 90 000, please use this calculator to estimate how much it can costs: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#how-automatic-translation-works-lnk

Yes, you can assign the remaining credits to any other site registered through your account https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/
2- Credits can be use for renewals? or
When your WPML subscription is due for renewal your credits will remain on your account available for use at any time.

https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/how-to-change-the-source-language-of-strings/
If you, however, added Traditional Chinese content via php templates and hard-coded strings, then you should be sure to scan your theme/plugins after installation and thereafter check that these particular strings are correctly tagged with the correct language. If they are not, you can change them following the above cited article. To see how to scan themes/plugins, please review this article:

I hope this response answers your question.
