I intend to develop a website that supports multiple currencies (Malaysian and Singaporean) as well as multiple languages. My inquiries are as follows:
1.Can WPML (WordPress Multilingual Plugin) accommodate the functionality of a website that is both multilingual and multicurrency?
2.Will the multicurrency feature automatically adjust based on the user’s location, such as changing the currency to Singaporean dollars if the visitor is from Singapore?
3.Regarding payment gateways, for instance, using Senang Pay for Malaysia and PayNow for Singapore, will Senang Pay be hidden when the customer is browsing from Singapore?
Hello there,
Let me try to answer your questions in order:
1. Yes, you can use WPML for translating your website and our WCML add-on for your shop and setting the multicurrencies.
2. Yes, you can set your currencies based on the location.
3. Finally, if your gateway is WPML compatible, you can also configure in which countries it will be displayed.
Regards
1.How much does the WCML cost?
2.May I know if my payment gateway is compatible with the woocommerce if mean also compatible with the wpml?
3.Can you share the backend demo links for WCML and WPML?
1. It is part of our Multilingual CMS Package: https://wpml.org/purchase/
2. You can check if your plugin is already compatible in the following list: https://wpml.org/plugin/
3. We don’t have demo versions. However, we have a 30 days refund policy.

Hi there! I have been very interested in having my blog in at least 3 different languages based on my audience. One of the reasons is to grow my blog by being more accessible.
With this plug in, would everything be under my one domain? And I would simply have something like language directories? Also, to confirm, if I have my own translator they can just hop in and do the translations or at least edit?
Helo Laura,
yes, everything will be under your domain and yes, WPML will create virtual languages for your translations, so your translated post will follow this pattern:
yourblog.com
youbrlog.com/es (Spanish)
youbrlog.com/it (Italian)
and so on.
For example:
yourblog.com/how-to-take-good-photos-at-night
yourblog.com/es/como-tomar-buenas-fotos-de-noche
yourblog.com/it/come-scattare-belle-foto-di-notte
You cannot use automatic translation for the Blog package so if you would like to speed up your translation process, you would need to buy the Multilingual CMS package. Automatic translations can be edited manually if needed both by you and by the other users of your site/blog.
Hello Brian,
you can use WPML for as long ad you want but if you want to receive updates and our support help, you need to have an active subscription. When you buy WPML, we will set up automatic account renewals, which are not mandatory and you can switch to manual renewals. In this case, if you forget to renew WPML after the first year, you won’t receive plugin updates but WPML will still work on your site.
We want to switch from polyang to wpml. Polyang functioned well for many years, but now is constantly breaking permalinks, and we had to disable it. If we switch to you, and migrate from Polyang – do you know if we will carry the problem of broken links?
We have one website planned to be served in 10 languages. For security and technical reasons; we have been asked to serve some pages as sub-domains instead of folders. I mean, instead of “domain.com/login“, we will have a different wordpress installation inside the same server, communicating with the same database serving the same page as “login.domain.com“. Therefore:
1. Should we need to consume a license for each domain – provided that all will be under same domain name but as sub-domains, and to reside inside same server/same ip address?
2. Is there a way to export string translations from existing web site (using the same plugins) and to import them to the sub-domain sites?
I am developing WordPress websites with WooCommerce and Elementor Pro. Does WPML offer translation to more unique languages like Papiamento? Also do you allow custom translations or feedback on a language if we find an incorrect translation? Lastly, as a developer does the plugin work with multi-site or is the only option for single site? I currently use my Elementor Pro subscription for many clients that I manage.
I forgot to add that languages that cannot be translated automatically, after added as custom languages can be translated manually. In your case if you can translate to Papiamento with some other tools, you can copy paste your translations into your WPML site.
I am considering of the best website translation plugin. I select WPML as one of our plugin options. I just want to know the price into the following case: If our websiste is more than 90,000 credits (i.e. 100,000 credits (10,000 credits short)), can we purchase only 10,000 credits. I want to know more details about your pricing for WPML credits.
Hello,
you can pay for the additional credits in two ways:
1) buy the so-called pre-paid credits. In this case you will pay €50 (+VAT) for 40,000 credits
2) use the pay-as-you-go option and in this case you will pay €6 EUR for 10 000 credits (provided you translate to one language)
Yes, pay-as-you-go credits are cheaper but this option works differently – you need to sign up with your credit card.
Please check this page for details You will see an interactive calculator that will help you estimate how much you will pay for translation a specific number of words.
It depends on how you add the svg files to your site and how you translate the site. Say you have the SV files added to one or two pages and these pages are edited via the WordPress Block Editor. What you can do to provide different versions of these svg files is to switch to the WordPress Editor instead using the WPML Translation editor only for these two pages and replace the SVG files on these translations. This page will help: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/
Thank you for your reply.
I am a bit confusing about your translation plugin.
MS (Bing) Translator supports 103 languages, but WPML plugin supports 65 languages.
What happens for auto translation if I select “not WPML support” but Bing Translator support languages like Burmese and Sinhalese?
In other words, can we use Burmese and Sinhalese for WPML auto translation on our website without setting up custom language?
We plan to add Burmese and Sinhalese as WPML custom languages, but if we enable to use MS Translator, we don’t need to use custom language.
Thank you for your attentions, and we hope you will response to my translation question.
Hello,
yes, it is confusing a bit but let me help to explain.
WPML uses the Microsoft translator (Bing) but we connect to this through the API and you need to check this list: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs if the language you are planning to use is supported. If it not, it doesn’t matter that the official online version of Bing supports it, it won’t work with WPML because we didn’t provide the integration. So your reference will be the list of languages here: https://ate.wpml.org/mt_langs I hope this helps.
Hi,
Is there a possibility to have the Abandoned Basket email and Back in stock email notification in two languages? I’m using two different plugin for that. I’m creating my shop using WordPress and WooCommerce as well as an Uncode theme.
Hello, what are the full names/links of the two plugins you are mentioning? We would need to check if these are compatible with WPML. Or you can check this yourself by checking this page https://wpml.org/plugin/ and using the search from the page.
Yes, we changed it some time ago and announced this to our clients (we also sent some emails about this change) https://wpml.org/announcements/2023/08/upcoming-pricing-update-for-new-accounts/
I can see that your WPML subscription wasn’t renewed on time and it expired on January 5, 2024.
Please use this form to contact us directly to sort this out and we will see what we can do for you: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/

Hi, I represent a non-profit organization from Poland. We’re building a new website and would like to use WMPL for translation, however as an NGO we’re on a very tight budget. Do you offer any non-profit discounts or free licenses for WMPL? If yes, how can I apply? That would help us greatly.
Hello Michal,
yes, we have some special offers for non-profit organisations. Please use this form and send us the link to your website and we will reply back about the offer. Thank you.
I have a client’s site in production with the WPML “Multilingual Blog” license. I’m now working on a website for another client that I need to include translations for.
1. Can I upgrade WPML to the “Multilingual CMS” license and, from the three available licenses, have one installed on the website that is already active today, another for the site I’m currently working on, and keep one as a spare?
2. Would I need to make any changes to the existing website that has been created using the smaller license? (Changes in settings, licenses, plugins, or anything else?) Hopefully, the upgrade won’t have any impact there.
Hello Lautaro,
Yes, you can upgrade your current Blog subscription to CMS for the difference only.
The CMS subscription allows you to register 3 production sites and 9 development sites https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/#register
You will not need to make any changes to your site. The site will remain registered through your current account and you will also have 2 extra keys for 2 other production sites.
Thank you for the links. Right, they are not compatible with WPML. You can consider using the Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce plugin instead of Abandoned Cart Lite for WooCommerce but we don’t have any replacement for “Back In Stock Notifier for WooCommerce | WooCommerce Waitlist Pro”.
I’ve got a question about the size guide. I’m using the Uncode theme.
In my Spanish version of a website, I would like to display a size guide in centimeters and in my English version, I would like to display another size guide(the informations in centimetres and inches).
In this case my question is: can I display/ hide the size guide if they are in two different versions?
Can you specify how you define the size? Is this the Uncode theme widget/element? If so, yes, it should be compatible because the Uncode theme is compatible. However, if mean a WooCommerce product, yes, you can translate attributes without problems.
Hi Every one,
if you use WPML plugin, Can I set language based on location/IP?
like I want, if someone hit my website from Sweden, it should be come in Swish language, like http://www.abc.com/sv
But for rest of countries, it should be in English.
I do not to set redirect based on Brower language.
While WPML doesn’t currently have a native feature for this, there are some great WPML-compatible geotargeting plugins that can help you achieve this on your multilingual site.
I’d like to know if it’s possible to reach an agreement for the agencies unlimited package, since I plan on creating a website in where users can pay a monthly fee to access several plugins but as your terms and conditions don’t allow to resell or similar I’d like to know if we can reach an agreement
Hello,
We don’t set up individual agreements with our clients because it would be difficult to track these cases. However, maybe you can achieve your goals with the Agency package we provide, the way it is. You can use WPML (the Agency package) on the unlimited number of websites of your clients. Please note that WPML won’t work unless you finish your setup with registering a site key (a separate one for each site). This is something you would need to do anyway, for each and every site of your clients. So as long as you keep the WPML plugins registered, feel free to have them available for your clients.
Hi,
Why or how is it with the updates only for 1 year after purchase? I wanted to buy the plugin for unlimited projects und this does not make too much sense if updates are not included after one year, right.
Hello, you can cancel your WPML subscription at any time and still use the WPML plugins but if you don’t renew WPML after the first year, you won’t get updates after the first year and we cannot anticipate of what happen if you update your other plugins or WordPress but don’t update WPML plugins. Of course you can renew after a break, for example, you use WPML without updates for 7 months and only after you renew. But in this case you will need to pay the full price again because we give 25% discounts for clients who renew on time. I hope this helps.

Hello,
1. You need only one licence key for all the subdomains, provided your website uses only one WordPress installation. Please follow this guide on how to configure your site with subdomains: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/how-to-use-wpml-with-different-domains-per-language/ So, in your case the CMS Multilingual package will suffice
2. This set of instructions might help: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-can-i-move-string-translations-from-one-site-to-another/
We have successfully installed WPML on our website with TwentyTwentyFour theme and it is running perfectly, so far.
Glad to hear that. If you already purchases WPML, feel free to use our support forum for further questions. Thank you.

Hello,
unfortunately WPML doesn’t support Papiamento for automatic translation. You can still add this language to your site, as the so-called custom language by following this documentation. Here is the list of Supported Languages for Automatic Translation with WPML
Yes, you can always edit automatic translation. Yes, WPML works with WordPress Multisite.

WPML can set redirection based on the browser language not based on location/IP.

Hi there,
Is this Email Template Customizer working as is shown here:

I’d like to be sure before I’ll purchase the WPML.
We are compatible with this plugin: https://wpml.org/plugin/woocommerce-email-customizer-email-template-customizer-and-designer-with-drag-and-drop-email-templates-builder/
