  1. I want to auto routing language translaltion based on user language. is this option available in the WPML

  2. Hello there, i want to buy WPML for my work, and I’m planning to buy the Multilingual CMS plan.
Will I be able to upgrade my plan to agency in the future paying the cost difference?

    • Hello

Yes, you can always upgrade from a lower-cost account type to a more complete one. When you upgrade, you only need to pay the difference.

For more information on plans types, please refer to the FAQ section here: https://wpml.org/purchase/

    • Hello

Our list of fully tested compatible plugins can be found here:
      https://wpml.org/plugin/

Of the list you provided, we work well with Elementor Pro and Rank-Math. You need to check with the Barn2 plugin authors about the extent of WPML compatibility. Also, please note that Elementor Pro works with a number of plugins that provide advanced widgets which may not be immediately recognised/supported out-of-the-box by WPML and may need to be “registered”. You should not confuse Elementor Pro support with any other widgets provided by these other plugins.

We have documentation on how to register additional Elementor widgets (as does Elementor Pro) and our support team can help you do that as well.

I hope this answers your question.

  3. HelloI am interested in the WPML plugin, but I only need one license, and my website is an e-shop. Will I be able to translate all the texts and strings on my e-shop with the Multilingual Blog plan? I am not interested in translating the plugins or their functionalities, only the texts and strings that will appear on my website.

    Thank you.

    • Hello

If you are going to use Woocommerce, you will need WCML and String Translations in addition to WPML CMS. The Blog plan will not suffice. The WCML plugin has the extra logic to help you synchronise stock and other product pricing information between different language versions of your product.

The Blog plan is really only targeted to normal posts, pages, and media. There is little support for post-meta (custom fields) information or theme/plugin configuration otpions and dynamic texts which you would need to be able to generate the appropriate invoice and email outputs.

I hope this answers your question.

  4. so for example when i am viewing the product from USA it shows in $US and simultaneously if the product is viewed from India it still shows price in USD. When w3 cache is disabled it works fine. Since w3 caches the page the price doesn’t change. however, this works perfectly with other multi currency plugin since they use ajax to load the price.

    • Hello,
You say: “The price doesn’t seems to update when I browse from different country when I use the cache.” does it mean you already use WPML? I’m asking because I haven’t found you in our system with the email address you posted this comment with. If you are our client, please open a ticket on our support forum and one of our technical supporter will look into your caching issues. As my colleague explained in her previous reply, WPML is compatible with W3 Total Cache. Here in the pre-sales questions we can answer general pre-sales questions and technical issues need to be consulted via our support forum. If you are not using WPML yet, you can buy it keeping our refund policy in mind and also use our technical assistance. I hope that helps.

  5. Hello,

We are interested in the Multilingual CMS license. We’d like to inquire if you offer any non-profit discounts for WPML?

    Thank you

  6. I am using a /staging site to test out the currency converter and have followed the instructions on the YT video. But, it isn’t displaying anything on my product pages. Is there something I can do to get this to work on our woocommerce/wp site?

  7. Hello there,

I am currently using a theme called Listeo Pro from themeforest which I bought because I thought the site was compatible with WPML but apparently is not. Any chance you can take a look at it and let me know if I can use your plugin properly to translate it to 3 languages? English, Greek, Russian. The developer mentioned that they don’t have any plans of making it compatible with WPML so I am asking you directly if you can help out with this.

    Thanks in advance,

  8. Bonjour, je viens d’acheter un WPML chez vous. J’ai cru comprendre que le paiement allait être automatiquement reconduit d’année en année. Comment modifier cela ? Je vous remercie

  9. Can I use WPML with my own translation service? I have an endpoint to send/receive data in XLIFF, but I want WPML to help with the WP workflow on a multisite installation.

  10. We are looking to translate our site into multiple languages and came accross this plugin. I have a question about the final URLs. With the plugin is there a way to assign a different root url? For example http://www.examplesite.com could we point the translation to the root domain being in that language, so in this case it would be http://www.ejemplositio.com? or does WPML just add the language extension to that original url? so it would turn out like http://www.examplesite.com/es?

Thank you in advance for your help.

  11. Hi! I have been a WPML customer year ago, and I am now considering renewing my subscription and upgrading to the Multilingual Agency level. Do I still have the 75% discount on renewals? How can I apply it?

    • Hello,
Your WPML subscription expired on May 17, 2022. If you want to use the same account, you can do so, simply log into your WPML account and purchase WPML when logged in. You need to pay the full price because we have discounts only for clients who use WPML continuously, without a break.

  12. I have a Woocommerce site. I also have a mobile version of the site. Will I get API support if I purchase WPML CMS?

  13. I have taken WPML Multilingual Agency specially for translating Arabic language but I see the DeepL is not used here. The other translator is not translating English to Arabic in proper way. I was not aware of this fact. Is it true?

  14. Hello, I have an expired license, but I only used 2 of 3 available websites. I can’t activate any more now because it says that my license is expired. This doesn’t seem right, I should be able to download and activate the plugins up to the limit of what I purchased.

Now since I have 2 active websites now, if I purchase the renewal, will I get another 3 or I’ll just have 3 in total?

    • Hello, if you buy with the same account/email you can add only 1 additional website because the Multilingual CMS account allows you to have only 3 production websites registered. If you buy with a different email, you will be able to register 3 websites.
You can also instal 9 development sites (in both cases) but sites registered as development will have a banner in the footer that says it’s a development site.

  15. Hi, my subscription has expired and I switched to pay as you go plan and made this change on our website too, now the WPML is not active on our website and when I log in WPPML it still shows me that my subscription is expired and I need to buy a new one, I’m also unable to contact support as the system doesn’t recognize the account as an existing customer

    • Hello there,
According to your description, you switched to pay as you go plan but you don’t mention if you also bought a new WPML license. If that’s the case, you would need to first renew your WPML license, create a new key and register WPML again. If you already have a new license but you can’t contact support, please write us to hello@wpml.org and share your account details. We will be able to help you better from there.

    • Hello,
The only group for which we grant discounts is the non-profit sector. If you are representing a non-profit organisation, please use this form to apply, introduce yourself and share the link to your website.

  16. Dear, Could WPML provide subdirectories for the translated pages? Say a /fr/, /en/ etcetera. And then what would this look like within WordPress? The idea is to have separate pages (for SEO) for the translations, which are then divided under the subdirectories. Kind regards, M

    • Yes, WPML provides your translations in separate directories as you would expect. That’s one of the options available and the most frequently selected by our users. Yes, for each translation, WPML creates a new WordPress page. Please check the website from our showcase to see examples from our clients. Also this site (wpml.org) uses WPML as well. And we use directories too. For example check this page in a few languages:
      https://wpml.org/
      https://wpml.org/es/
      https://wpml.org/fr/
      ect.

  17. Hi we’re a US Texas state agency looking to utilize WPML with Microsoft and have a few questions:
    1. How do we deal with tax exemption for Texas state sales tax?
    2. We have hired a design company to build our website and want to integrate WPML into the design for functionality/accessibility. The design company is currently building the site in their own WordPress instance and will move it to our site once it’s built out. How does licensing/installation work so that we can have it set up to test and then properly migrate it to our instance? Thanks!

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML.
When you say that you plan to utilize WPML with Microsoft, do you mean that you plan to use the Microsoft’s translation engine for automatic translation? If so, yes, WPML supports this engine but the default one is DeepL so you would need to change the default in WPML settings before you start translating your site.
      1. Regarding taxes and handling special cases. Please contact us directly and explain your case: https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/ It’s likely that your case must be handled manually.
      2. You can start using WPML on any website. When setting up WPML, you will be asked to register it and enter the license key. You can unregister this site and register it with a new key at any time. Please note that a WPML key is valid for a specific domain, which means, if you migrate your site to another domain, you need to unregister it and register with a new key that will be associated with the new domain. This is something easy to be done. You can register and unregister your sites as many times as you like. To register the site, you need to have access to your WPML account. You can share your WPML account credentials with the company that will design your site.

  18. I don’t want to buy a new license right now as we don’t need further translation in the coming period, what should I do to keep the website working properly without losing the version that we translated when I bought the license? I’ll buy a new license when we upgrade our existing website

  19. Hi,

As I understand it, your package comes with 90.000 credits/45.000 words which doesn’t seem like much. If we were to translate the website, it’s around 500.000 words. How do you solve for this?

  20. Hello I’m using today Translatepress, and i was not satisfied 100%.
Now i’ve been refunded and i’m looking for a solution, my question is :
How can i switch from Translatepress to WPML smoothly ?

    I know that:
Yes, the translated pages will still be reachable. We are translating at the string level, not at the post one. Basically, we replace only the strings on a page and adds the slug to the URL, but is not a different page, editable in the back-end for example.
No worries, if you don’t delete the _trp_* tables from your database, the translations remain. And, as I already mentioned, disabling or deleting the plugin will not delete the _trp_* tables.

I Hope i will not have to translate everything again as it’s somewhere in database

    • Hello Sebastien,
WPML and Translatepress work differently and you cannot use both at the same time. You will need to retranslate your content using WPML.

  21. Hi,
I am interested in to purchase WPML Plugin.
So I have website into which all data coming from Third party API.
Can we able to translate these data and show in translated language.
API is not for POST or PAGE. It is totally different data.

    • Hello,
WPML can handle standard data of WordPress (regular post types, custom post types, taxonomies and non-standard data coming from popular plugins such as WPForms, Gravity Forms, popular page builders etc). If you use Third party APIs the chance it will work with WPML is slim. It’s very likely that custom coding will be needed in your case which is outside of the scope of our support. You might want to hire some of the WPML consultants to do this extra work: https://wpml.org/contractors/
