    • Hello Robert,
If you use the standard WordPress menu and a standard WordPress theme (not Full Site Editing theme navigation), the menu translation will work fine also with the Blog package. My colleague Mercedes what trying to explain that downgrading from the CMS package to the Blog package is risky because the CMS package includes more features which might stopped working after such a downgrade. One of them is using the String Translation plugin which is required if your site uses a page builder (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery etc) and if you want to translate your site automatically. If you want to translate your site manually, you can consider purchasing the Blog package. If you see that you need the String Translation plugin to translate some extra texts, you can upgrade to the CMS package for the difference of the purchase price. If you don’t want to pay for the yearly renewals, please switch to manual renewals and simply don’t update your WPML subscription after the first year. WPML will still work but you will not receive plugin updates and our support help.

  1. Hi, thanks for your last reply. I have one more question. Is it possible to do product country restriction on one wordpress installation somehow? I saw a plugin called “Country Based Restrictions for WooCommerce”, that would probably meet my requirements, but does it work with WPML? Would the best option for separate prices and products displayed in other countries be to do a multi-store? If multi-store then what is the best plugin to use for this?

    Regards, Steve

  2. Hello,

I messaged about Kurdish (Sorani) and the response was that Kurdish is supported but it is still unclear if it is Kurdish Sorani or Kurdish Kurmanji. They are different dialiects.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    • Thank you. We need more time to check this out because indeed our documentation doesn’t specify which dialect of Kurdish we support. I’m checking this with our developers. I’ll keep you posted on that matter.

    • Hello Rob,
Thank you for your patience. Our developers have checked it and when you select Google Translate in your WPML Settings Kurdish Kurmanji will be used. If you select the Miscrosoft translation engine Kurdish Sorani will be used.

  4. Hi,
I’m using the Funnel kit automation plugin in my woocommerce store, which sends emails to user when they leave the cart.
I would like to know if your plugin translate that emails too (and all the others that woocommerce sends).

    Thanks.

    • Hello,
      Do you mean this plugin:
      https://wpml.org/plugin/funnelkit-funnel-builder/
If so, yes, it is compatible with WPML which means that email should be available for translation as well. If you are stuck with translating the emails, please use our support channel for getting assistance on that matter. Sometimes translating emails requires a special workflow.
If you meant a different plugin, please let me know its name.

  5. I am transferring tokens to my site, but I don’t see them in the WordPress resources. Previously, all tokens were passing normally. Now I’ve lost 60000 tokens, and 200000 I can’t transfer…. In my https://wpml.org/ account everything works fine, so in WordPress everything works fine too.

    • Hello Piotr,
please report this issue using our support channel. Someone from the technical team needs to check what happened. If you lost credits because of a WPML bug, don’t worry we will give you them back. Thank you.

    • Hello Marek,
it’s per year but renewals are optional. You can cancel your WPML subscription at any time and still use the WPML plugins. When you cancel, you will not receiving updates and our support help.

  6. Hi there,

I am building a website for a client in France and they want their site to be available in French and in English, but they don’t like machine translation and want to put in their own copy.

Is that possible in WPML? We like the functionality of clicking a button and then seeing the site swith, including the navigation bar, but want more control over the text.

    Thank you,

    Marcus

    • Hello Marcus,
yes, it’s possible to put your own copy into the translation editor WPML provides.
If you don’t want to use automatic translation, please do the following:
      1. In the WPML wizard select “Let me choose what to translate” (instead of Translate Everything Automatically)
      2. Don’t assign any translation credits to your site when registering your site. Nothing will get translated automatically if there are no credits. Hint: If your site has any credits assigned, to can give them back to your WPML account pool by visiting the WPML > Translation Management > Tools > and selecting “Transfer credits to wpml.org”
      3. Disable the Translate automatically when opening the editor feature of the WPML editor. This can be done by clicking on the “gear wheel” icon in the top right corner of the editor or if you open the editor for the first time you see your page has been translated – please click the “Undo button” and then WPML will ask you if you would like to disable that feature.

  7. we need a Translation tool to translate one language to another . We have plan to go with WPML too for the same requirement. can we have a enterprise support for this tool as customer is asked for the enterprise support for 4 years and 8 months period

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in using WPML. We don’t have any special support offer for enterprise clients. Here’s what you can consider using/doing instead:
      1. Hire one our contractors: https://wpml.org/contractors/
      2. In case of any issues, feel free to use our regular support channel. When purchasing WPML you can open as many support ticket as you want. The only requirement is to have your WPML account/subscription active.

  8. I have a site that has a theme and page content needs to be translated . Each page and theme content needs to be extracted and then into Po files for it to be translated . Then inserted back ….. is that something you support ?

    • Hello,
WPML can handle translation of the po files of your theme and plugins. You need to have the WPML String Translation plugin enabled (included in the Multilingual CMS or Agency package). Then you work with the WPML > String Translation and WPML Theme and plugin localization screens. WPML also provides the import/export options for po files (within the String Translation panel). So this is for texts from po files of your themes and plugins such as “Leave a comment”, “This field is required”, “Add to cart” etc.
However, the content of your regular posts and pages cannot be exported to po files – this can be exported XLIFF files if for any reason you are interested in exporting the regular content as well.

  9. Hi, i would like to get your support team respond on my renewal status, my credit card was went through and paid, but it didn’t update on my renewal status, still showing i haven’t pay yet…please let someone who responsible on this contact me, thanks

    • Hello,
Indeed, I can see the oder that failed with the following notice: “The card was declined.” Is your card still valid?
I will put you in touch with my colleagues who can help you will this. Expect my email soon.

  10. I see only Paypal option and our client does not have one and also are not allowed to create one. How do we make a purchase in that case? I see that there is an “alternative method” available in the FAQ section but the “Place order” button directly takes me to Paypal without any additional options.

    • Hello,
the stripe option (that allows you to pay by card as well) might not be available for some countries (e.g. India). In that case using PayPay is the only option. Can you please let me know what is your country?

  11. Pre-purchase inquiry

I’m currently building a WooCommerce store using a temporary domain provided by the hosting service (the store is not yet completed).

1.If I purchase WPML now, and later change the domain when the store is completed, will WPML still work?
2.Many of the pages have mostly identical content, with only a small part being different. Will I be charged repeatedly for the translation?
3.Additionally, Microsoft translation pricing is quite affordable. I’m unsure about the difference in translation quality. I only have a small WooCommerce store with not many articles or large amounts of text. I would like to hear your opinion.
4.On this page: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/#pay-as-you-go-pricing, I see a “Pay As You Go Pricing”! Is the usage cumulative, or does it reset every month?

  12. Assistance Required for WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency Integration Issue.

    Hello,

I am currently using the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin on my WordPress site and have entered my license key correctly. However, when I try to activate the plugin and reach the product activation screen, I encounter the following issues:

503 Service Unavailable Error: When attempting to activate the WPML plugin, I repeatedly receive a “The server is temporarily busy, try again later!” message from the server. This error also affects other functionalities on the site.

Compatibility Issue with WooCommerce and WPML: Although the WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency with WPML plugin is installed, the integration between WooCommerce and WPML is not functioning correctly, and the language translations on product pages are not working as expected.

In addition to these errors, I am seeing multiple warnings and PHP errors in the admin panel. I have ensured that all necessary tables and plugins are in place, but I continue to face these problems when I reach the product activation screen.

I would appreciate your guidance on how to resolve these issues. I am confident that my server resources are sufficient, and I believe the problem lies with the WPML plugin itself. A prompt solution would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you and best regards,

    License Key: fXeIJmXiRK

  13. Hello,

I am considering WPML and I would like to know if with Permalink link like this already on my website:
    Post name
    https://aaaaaaaa.com/sample-post/

Will I need to change all pages to match your naming requirements: “/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/” as I need to keep my pages already as set up since they rank well in SE and I do not want to change them?

If I choose the Multilingual CMS plan but let say my website as more than 50,000 words, will I need to upgrade automatically to Multilingual Agency pricing, I want to use Google automatic translation?

How would I know how many words your plugin find on my website (is it possible to test before hand)?

Last question, for language URL format, if I use the language name added as parameter option, will all URL already in English in my website will stay as such without a lang=en naming added in my url and only all other languages will have the naming convention added (lang=es, https://aaaaaaaa.com/es/sample-post/)?

    Thank you

    Best regards

    • Hello,
You don’t need to change your permalink structure. The one you use is also fine.
If you run out of the free translation credits you can buy more, this page explains the details:
      https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatic-translation-pricing/
DeepL is the default engine used by WPML. If you want to use the Google Translate, you need to go to WPML > Settings and drag and drop Google Translate to appear first on your list. BTW, DeepL is better than Google.
Yes, it is in a way – it’s not 100% accurate but will help you – please go to WPML > Translation Management and select your pages in bulk. At the bottom of the screen you will see the number of words.
The links of your original language won’t be affected, no matter what option you choose in your WPML settings.

  14. I purchase WPML and the money was cut from my credit card already at 09 September 2024
but i don’t have log-in account. why ? i need to download and invoice. please help me fix this issue

    • Hello Sawita,
I cannot see any user with your email address (I checked the one you used to post this comment with). This makes me think you made a typo in your email. Please use this form and send us the details: the name you used, if you use PayPal or your card, if you used the card please send us the last 4 digits of the card. Send us the date and time when you purchased, anything that will help us find your order in our system. Or maybe you know what kind of typo you made in your email?

  15. please reply me via my email so i will notice the answer
I’ve purchase at 09 Sep 2024, the credit card already cut my money but i don’t have access to log-in and download.
please help me fix this. i also need invoice.

    • You will find the invoice in your WPML account but first we need to fix the email address. As I explained in my previous reply we need to find you in our system.

  16. Hi,
    Looking to purchase this.
I don’t see the language “Georgian” listed as available with this software.
Will the software be able to have a Georgian version of our website?
Note that English is the primary language, so an auto translation to Georgian that we can then edit to be accurate is what we need.
We’d also have Russian, but I see that language is available.

Please let me know if we can have a Georgian site, and if it will be auto translation or we will need to import everything manually.

Also, not sure I see OptimiazePress builder and theme listed as compatible – is it? How do we have all 3 languages within their page builder if it’s not compatible? Not really clear how multi language editing works in page builders with your system.

    Thanks.

  17. We have a main website – in this example, http://www.test.com – and we want to make it available in other countries in their respective languages. This will result in URLs like http://www.test.com/nl, http://www.test.com/de, http://www.test.com/se, and so on, for every page in that language. So, for a Dutch website, you would have http://www.test.com/nl, http://www.test.com/nl/home, http://www.test.com/nl/aboutthecampaign, etc.

The texts do not need to be translated by the tool. Since our content is very specific, we will handle that ourselves.

What I want to achieve with the WPML plugin is:

    – A flag icon at the top of each website to switch between languages
    – The ability to build the site using this structure

Do I only need the Multilingual Blog?

    • Hello,
Thank you for your interest in WPML and providing some details on what you would like to achieve.
      1. Yes, WPML allows you to achieve the link structure as you described. That’s the default option of WPML – languages in “directories”.
      2. Yes, you will get the flag at the top of each page – we call that flag the language switcher. You can add the language switcher to your menu (you do so in the WPML > Languages section). By default the language switcher is added to your site’s footer (you can remove it too).
If you don’t need automatic translation, you can try with the Multilingual Blog but here are the top limitations of using the Multilingual Blog package (which is recommended only for simple Blogs)
      – the site’s structure (in terms of layouts) won’t be synchronise across your languages. This might be a problem if you use the WordPress Block Editor or page builders – if you change the order of your layout sections or add a new one, you will need to do the same change for every language (not needed when you use the Multilingual CMS package)
      – your theme use so-called Full Site Editing- menu translation won’t work
      – if you have any text strings to translate coming from your theme and plugins (e.g. “Leave a comment”, “Email address is option” ect)

  18. Thanks for the reply!

    https://www.optimizepress.com/ this is Optimizepress.

Google translate is terrible for Georgian unfortunately, total mess 🙁 So I’d have to import translations manually.

Are there any screenshots of the interface to show how one would add translations manually in both normal pages and with a page builder that is not compatible with your system? Not clear how difficult that would be to do.

  19. Hello,

I purchased a Multilingual CMS license last year and unfortunately the license expired a few weeks ago (July 31, 2024).
I did not have the opportunity at this time to renew the license (I was away from my office).

On the renew notification email I received at that time, I was informed that I could renew the license at 25% off the original price.

Today I can’t get this to work and the 25% off is no longer available, even if I click on the link in the mail.
I don’t want to buy a new license but renew mine.

    Please can you help ?

    • Hello Romain,
I am afraid the discount for renewal was only available while you kept your account active. If you didn’t renew in time, I am afraid you will have to pay the full amount again. Did you not receive pur emails about this?

      Kind regards
