[Risolto] Non riesco a far mettere i widget nella lingua che seleziono
Questo thread è stato risolto. Ecco una descrizione del problema e della soluzione.
Problem: The client was unable to display widgets in the correct language on their multilingual site. Specifically, the widgets 'Terralba (OR) - Italy' and 'Terralba (OR) Sardegna' were not appearing correctly in the selected languages in the Footer Top Area - Column 2. Solution: We recommended translating the widgets following the guide on Translating Widgets. If the widgets still did not display correctly, we suggested manually duplicating the widget and setting each copy to display in the appropriate language. This involved: 1. Duplicating the 'Aperitif Icon List Item' widget. 2. Renaming the duplicated widget to 'Terralba (OR) - Sardegna' for Italian and setting the original widget to 'Terralba (OR) - Italy' for English. 3. Adjusting the language settings for each widget to ensure they display only in their respective languages.
If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. It's also advisable to check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
Sintomi:
Selezionando la lingua di riferimento, i widget non vengono posizionati correttamente.
Domande:
Come posso far apparire i widget nella lingua corretta?
Ci sono impostazioni specifiche in WPML per gestire i widget multilingua?
To reduce the waiting time, I took this ticket and responded in English. Please let me know if you're okay with it or if you want to continue the conversation in Italian language. I will check and forward this ticket to one of our Italian-speaking supporters to assist you in the Italian language.
I understand the issue you're facing. To ensure the widget content displays correctly in each language, it needs to be properly translated. Please refer to the guide below and follow one of the methods outlined to translate the widget.
Hi Prosenjit,
English's fine for me..
I've done everything written in the vademecum, but still cannot translate the string "Terralba (OR) - Italy".. as you can see it appears both in English and in Italian.
I've already translated it in String Tranlations area, but not working and I've becoming crazy about it..
can you please check?
Thanks
Gabriele
Also in the 3 Column (about us section).. I've been trying to tell to put it only in the English site, but it puts both English and Italian..
I checked on String translation but there I cannot translate the links to the Italian site..
Once it worked better this part with Widget Logic plugin, isn't it?
Thanks for your support..
Gabriele
Usually, the widget appears translated after following the steps in the documentation. However, I tried to check your site, but due to maintenance mode being enabled, I couldn't investigate further. Since the widget isn't showing as translated despite following the guide, a closer inspection will be needed to identify the root cause.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
-Please backup site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: link nascosto
Hello Gabriel,
Thank you for sharing the access details.
I checked and noticed that you've used a widget from the theme in the footer. It’s possible that the widget doesn’t fully support translation, which is why the text within the widget isn’t displaying correctly in other languages.
Upon inspection, I found that the About Us column is displaying correctly in all languages. However, to show "Terralba (OR) - Italy" in English and "Terralba (OR) - Sardegna" in Italian, I followed this approach:
- In Footer Top Area - Column 2, I duplicated the Aperitif Icon List Item widget.
- In the duplicated widget's title, I added "Terralba (OR) - Sardegna".
- I set the original widget, with the title "Terralba (OR) - Italy", to appear in English only, and the duplicated widget to display in Italian (Screenshot: link nascosto).
- I then saved the changes.
The widget started to appear correctly after that. Please check the attached screenshot.
I hope you can understand. Please feel free to let me know if you have any other queries or need clarification. I will be happy to assist.
Hi Prosenjit,
I've actually done it before, but it wasn't working as well, as it's not working now..
It keeps displaying both language on English side.
I found that it's not saving the changes on widgets page even if it say "widget saved"..
I'm tired of it and I should move on with this project, I will display only the English one..
Thaks fpr your support.
Gabriele
Hello Gabriele,
I hope you're doing well. Sorry for the delay in responding due to the weekend.
During my investigation, I discovered that the widget needs to be manually translated. Once I did that, the widgets appeared correctly in each language, as shown in the screenshot I shared in my last response. After manually adding the widget for each language, I haven't encountered any further issues.
If you're still experiencing issues with the widget display, I'd be happy to assist and resolve them. Currently, the footer is displaying the widget correctly in each language. Could you please share a screenshot of where you're seeing the issue? Additionally, any details on how to replicate the problem would be really helpful in identifying the issue and providing the right solution.
I appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Looking forward to your response and I'm always here to help!
Hi there,
it actually not working by my side.
If you see the attach, the string "Terralba (OR) - Italy" is still in English on Italian side.
Morevover that string does not even appear in the string list and cannot be translated even manually.
Cheers
Gabriele
As I mentioned earlier, the translation support might not be fully integrated into the theme’s default widget, which could explain why the widgets aren’t translatable via String Translation. However, manual translation can still be used to translate the widgets.
I added another Icon List widget in the "Footer Top Area - Column 2" and configured it to match the default one. For the new widget, I added "Terralba (OR) - Sardinia" and set it to display only in Italian. Now, the widgets are displaying correctly in each language.
During the configuration, I encountered an issue where the language settings kept changing automatically. I had to adjust the language settings several times to ensure the widgets appeared correctly in each language. It’s possible that these widgets don’t yet have full multilingual support, which might be causing this inconsistency.
If you need to modify the text for Italian, you might experience the same issue. Make sure to adjust the language settings for the widget correctly, and try refreshing the widget section after making changes. It would also be a good idea to reach out to the theme author’s support team and ask whether the widgets are fully compatible with a multilingual environment. You can also request their guidance on how best to translate the widgets.
Since the theme is not listed in the compatible theme directory of WPML, you can also request them to join the Go Global program of WPML to make their theme compatible with WPML.
I hope you can understand. Feel free to let me know if you have any other queries or need clarification with any particular step. I'll be happy to help.
Hi Prosenjit,
that was the issue I was experiencing.. I cannat save the changes I was doing on my site.
