Getting started with Powerling and WPML

To send content for translation to Powerling, install the following plugins on your website:

  • WPML Multilingual CMS – the core plugin
  • WPML String Translation – this plugin will allow you to translate interface strings

You can download them from your wpml.org account. If you do not have an account yet, you can create a new one by choosing WPML Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency plans.

Working with Powerling via WPML

Here are the basic steps of working with WPML and Powerling. For a full walkthrough, check out our page about using WPML with a translation service.

Connecting Your Website to Powerling

First, you need to connect WPML with Powerling. Part of this very simple process is to request your Powerling API token.

Contact Powerling and request an API Token, either by using their dedicated form or by contacting your Powerling representative, if you are already a Powerling client.

Sending content for translation

Once your site is connected to Powerling, you can start sending your content for translation.

Receive a quotation from Powerling

Do you want to know how much it will cost to translate your WordPress site with Powerling? You can start with the website word count tool in WPML. Get the word count, contact Powerling and they will give you an exact quote. After receiving your wordcount estimate or your xliff files, Powerling’s sales team will get back to you within 2 hours with a precise quotation (budget + time estimation).

Receiving completed translations

Once done, your site is ready to receive completed translations.

Canceling translation jobs

In order to cancel a project, you can contact Powerling representative and they will stop the analysis right away!

Translating the Rest of Your Site

Once you’re done translating the content of your page, there could be untranslated texts in menus, sidebars, and similar places. No problem, you can use Powerling to translate the rest of your site.
