Hi Fanny,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.

Checking the first image of the slider on the homepage "1-mainbanner-1.jpg": in Media > Library, I find the image and edit it, switch to the Dutch language with the language switcher at the topbar, I see it is a broken image. Please check this screenshot hidden link

Then delete the image in the Dutch language and edit the home page in English language > update the translation and you can see the first image is copied to the translation home page as well.

For other images, I recommend following steps below to fix the issue and see if it helps.

1. Go to Media > Library > Switch to Dutch and Spanish language > Change to list mode, screenshot hidden link
Then delete all broken images.

2. Go to WPML > Settings > Media Translation section > Click on "Start" button to duplicate all existing media to the second languages.

3. You might need to update the home page and its translation then.

Note: Please backup your database and website before proceeding

Refer documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/#id5

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

I still see broken images in the Spanish language, please check this screenshot hidden link

Please go to Media Library and delete all broken images in English, Dutch, Spanish languages that I suggested above and run the Media Translation button after. Then let me know how it goes.

While checking the debug info, I see that the WordPress Memory Limit is below the requirements. The minimum requirements are 128M, but we do recommend 256M and the debug information of your site shows it set to 40M. Please check this link for more details
https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/.
You can increase it by adding the following code in your wp-config.php file, right before the /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */ line:

define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M' );

After adding the code you can confirm that the memory was changed correctly from WPML > Support > WordPress > Memory limit.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Thanks for checking, I did set MEMory Limit last week, also shows in WP Dashboard:
define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M');

Also deleted all the broken images in all languages.
Then run Media translation start again - no luck on spanish.
After this a lot of broken images appear again (1284 images where it was 480 after deleting).
So I´m doing the spanish homepage without advanced translation by copy now. To much hussle.
I guess it is broken by the way their guy moved from magento to Woo.
When ibnspecting an image I got this URL
hidden link" alt="ELLE Beauty Awards"

Deze afbeeldingen mis ik ook bij een steekproef, de map /pub/ bestaat niet in de woocommerce site dus denk dat die niet goed zijn geimporteerd.
When inspecting the broken image on Woo I see a link like this hidden link (stops at uploads and should be

I inherited this website like this.

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

I see that issue. Please try to delete all broken images in English first, then Dutch, and Spanish later. You can also try this again in a minimal environment:
- Deactivate all non-WPML plugins
- Switch to a standard theme of WordPress
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌

Also PHP memory limit is different from WP memory limit, please read more here https://wpml.org/faq/checklist-before-opening-a-ticket-in-wpml-support/#does-your-wordpress-installation-have-all-the-needed-resources

and check the status in WPML > Support > WordPress > Memory limit.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Thank you,
I did this now with english first, then Dutch and then Spanish.
Cleared database. Checked Memory limit is now showing ok.

I was afraid to test on live environment (i would not go for deleting all those images for the 3th time. So I cloned into a staging environment and deactived all non-WPML and theme to 2023 as you suggested.
Rum media translations in settings
Then I deleted the spanish homepage in the staging and empty trash, then i could translate again into spanish. (all text was saved luckily as stated here: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-delete-the-translation-of-a-page/
Somethings strange happens then, the homepage no longer is the homepage but shows blogfeed instead, the homepage itself keeps showing the manually edited one that i deleted. (this was a temp solution made not in wmpl advanced translator but edit in language itself) hidden link
hidden link dutch one is OK?
On Media spanish I see a lot of broken images again now (in the staging) see image so deleting had no effect.

So this route did not work for me.
I run the media translation again, maybe it was not complete

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

At first, please help me to delete all the broken images in the default (English) language on the staging site. Then create a backup file at that time.

Then share your staging site credentials (wp-admin and FTP) in the next reply. I will perform some troubleshooting steps and see how it goes.

You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Can you please recheck the home page in the Spanish language on the staging site? Now the images are displayed as well.

What I've done on the staging site:

- Go to Settings > Reading > Set up the Homepage.
- Go to Media Library > Switch to Spanish language > Delete all images.
- Go to WPML > Settings > Media Translation section > Click on "Start" button to duplicate images in other languages.
- Edit the homepage in the English language > Make a small change to the content > Save > Update the translation in Spanish with Advanced Translation Editor.

Look forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hmm. I checked after doing all those steps incognito and still see the old manually homepage in spanish with broken images

Somehow it does not change back to the Advanced translator version but keeps showing the previous page which was edited in WP - we need to get rid of that static Spanish page somehow...
