[Resolved] Persistent message "Jobs could not be loaded" on the Translations screen
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was experiencing an issue where the Translations Screen in WPML displayed the message 'Jobs could not be loaded' and did not show any translation jobs. The screen for String Translations indicated 'Waiting for Translator' and did not allow editing of pending translations. Solution: We recommended the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue: 1. Create a full backup of the site. 2. Clear the cache in WPML. 3. Remove ghost entries from the translation tables. 4. Fix the
element_type
collation. 5. Fix the collation of WPML tables. 6. Set language information. 7. Fix terms count. 8. Fix post type assignment for translations. These options are available under WPML > Support > Troubleshooting in the WPML dashboard.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, or if the solution seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket.

I was translating strings using WPML on my site hidden link. One string, the number '1', got stuck.
Now the Translations screen only shows this message and nothing more. I've sent other strings, deleted that one on String Translation, without success.
I am the Admin and the only backend user of the site.
Symptoms:
The Translations Screen (WP Menu > WPML > Translations) shows the message 'Jobs could not be loaded' and doesn't load the translation jobs I've sent other strings to trnslate myself. The Automatic Translated Strings seem to be okay, but I can't access my jobs.
String Translations says "Waiting for Translator" and don't allow me to edit the pending translations sent.
Questions:
Why is the Translations Screen showing 'Jobs could not be loaded'?
What can I do to access my translation jobs that I've sent to myself?
P.S. - ThemeCo Support Staff may also be accesing the Staging Server to debug this issue
Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. While one of my colleagues picks up this ticket, I’d like to provide some initial debugging steps to assist you right away.
We recommend creating a full backup of your site before performing the following troubleshooting steps in WPML:
-Clear the cache in WPML
-Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
-Fix element_type collation
-Fix WPML tables collation
-Set language information
-Fix terms count
-Fix post type assignment for translations
You can find these options under WPML > Support > Troubleshooting in your WPML dashboard.
Once you've completed these steps, please recheck to see if the translations are loading properly.
Could you please check if the translations actually exist? In some cases, when the process gets stuck, as you experienced earlier, no translations are created at all.
I've deleted all strings using String Translation, cleaned all strings per Domain, and then did all the steps proposed on your post #17281197 above. I can't access the Translations Screen, or the Page 2 on Translation Management > Translation Jobs.
I've tried disabling all WPML plugins and re-activating them, (always doing the steps on post #17281197 above after each step of the way), also without any results on this matter.
I'm translating Frontend Pages with Cornerstone so I can pause the WPML Translations for a while, but I'd really love to have it working at some point. I hope you folks can help me to find what's going on and fix it, I really love WPML.
Please let me know if you want me to create a Staging copy of the site, so you can jump in and investigate more deeply what's going on. I can lose all translations made by WPML at this point, as I've duplicated the pages made in Cornerstone and translated them myself.
Please let me know if is there anything else I can do, or if you want the Staging server. I can set it up in a matter of minutes and send you the credentials on a secure form you send me.
I've even invested € 100 in pre-paid translation credits so to translate this site flynet.me and later my personal site fabiofava.org but ther's a weird isssue: I've connected both sides, I wanted to add the credits to flynet.me and share with fabiofava.org but there's no way to make it work this sense. I can just connect flynet.me as "slave" of fabiofava.org but I'd like to be the other way around, as flynet.me is the main site where I do businesses and promote WPML.
Please check the screenshot from my WPML Acount, it shows as flynet.me was "inactive", but the license is active (maybe this is helping causing the Translation screen not to show issue?) and I've even disconnected it for a whole day and reconnected the other day, but it still says that flynet.me is "inactive" and assumes fabiofava.org is the "master" site but it's otherwise.
Image 2 shows what happens when I try to connect using flynet.me code into fabiofava.org. I can do the other way but it will assume fabiofava.org as "master" and flynet.me as "slave". When I disconnect it shows my credits properly on flynet.me and nothing on fabiofava.org.
I'll keep looking forward from you on unlocking my translations, but also as possible to fix this "inactive" state and treat as main site flynet.me on my WPML Account, as well as make all my credits appear at flynet.me instead of fabiofava.org.
Thank you so much once more for your infinite patience with me and precious support.
All my best regards to you and the Staff & DevTeam!
Thanks for your reply. I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your Website.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your reply. Please could you create a sitekey for this staging site? It's showing "Api error missing resource: No sitekey found for this website" here hidden link
Then, please list the steps to replicate the issue.
I just wonder if I disconnect flynet.me and delete its site key, then create a new site key for it and re-connect... Maybe this would help in some way?
I just want to make sure I don't lose my credits added the other day.
I'll keep looking forward from you, thank you very much
I've disconnected flynet.me (just in case deleted also for the staging server). Then created a new key for the Live site and registered. But unfortunately I still can't conect flynet.me to fabiofava.org to make flynet.me the "master" site as you can see on the screenshot.
On the other screenshot you can see my Manage Credits screen at WPML site, wich just shows fabiofava.org as a website. I could also delete the key for fabiofava.org but first I need to be guaranteed that my 193.765 credits will be preserved so when I connect, it will work.
I'll keep looking forward from you to solve this issue, thank you very much.
