Tell us what you are trying to do?

I'm trying to translate the article into English but I get a message like the one in the picture. The update is installed on 4.5.7. and wordpress 6.
Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site?

This issue might be happening due to a recent update. Sorry for that.

Can you please let me know if you had the chance to try the steps mentioned at the URL below?

If that doesn't work, please also try this:

If none of those will work, we have another thing that you can try.

One user reported that they fixed the issue with the following steps:

- Go to WPML > Translation Management
- Click on "Translators"
- Check if your user is defined as a translator. If not, please configure it again.

Please let me know how that goes and if you are now able to translate pages.

It's still the same problem. The difference is that I can now open the translation. Unfortunately only a part is there most are not in the translation table.

The previous articles have the same content but did not create a problem.

If you need access to data to look directly at the page I can send it to you.

The update, now that I open an old translation of a document with the same content, also creates the same problem. The translation is back on into Bosnian for part of the text.
Also, I noticed this marked in blue!

Please help.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

I was able to log in but I was not able to recreate the issue.

Thanks for your reply.

The links on one of the articles are:

English version hidden link (but still shows the link in Bosnian and all article is in bosnian).

Attached are pictures showing which article is in question.
The problem is that it doesn't create translation fields at all. So there are no fields in the translation table in the article.

Also, the previous articles (which have almost the exact content of "školatina - English tuition fees", there are 4 of them) that he translated before when I now open and changes are made, it return to the Bosnian language and there are no fields for translation.

Method of work: Article created in Bosnian language and saved. In the article settings, the option for English translation and duplication of content is selected. After that, the English translation was edited. This is how it worked on all the previous articles without any problems.

Thanks for the effort in solving the problem. We still haven't fixed the problem.
All updates are done as you requested.

Now I see text-related fields in the translation table. The problem still exists because on the English version of the page only the link and the title have been translated, the rest is still in Bosnian even though there is a translation in the translation table!

Any info? It's been almost a week and we haven't solved the problem, I can't continue with the updated content if I have problems with translation.

Hi there.

I'm sorry that this takes a bit longer to fix but it is not an easy issue so it takes longer to debug.

It is a pretty weird issue I would say, because the status of the translation job looks like the translation was saved successfully and if we go in the translation editor, the translated content is there, too.

Let's try this:

1. We need to increase the MaxInputVars to 51000 - currently, you have them set at 1000.

For this, please try to set this variables in your php.ini:

max_input_vars = 51000;
suhosin.post.max_vars = 51000;
suhosin.request.max_vars = 51000;

You may need to contact your hosting provider to set them.

Please make sure you have updated the values successfully, You can verify them from WPML >> Support page.

2. If the issue is still happening after that update, let's try to test for a compatibility-related issue.

- create a full website backup
- disable all plugins except WPML and its add-ons (leave the Elementor plugin active, too)
- check if the issue is happening again
- if it's not, reactivate your plugins one by one, checking every time if the issue shows up again so that you can understand which plugin is causing that issue

If the issue happens even with the non-WPML plugins disabled:

- leave all the non-WPML plugins deactivated
- switch to a default theme like TwentySeventeen
- try to recreate the issue now

If you have the chance, it would be best to do this in a staging (testing) environment.

Please let me know how that goes and if following any of these steps solved your issue or brought any change.

Hello,
Let's try this:

I can't disable all plugins because Timeline Widget Addon For Elementor (Version 1.3.5, updated to the latest version is used in the article, maybe there is something that causes problems).

Strange is fact that ist working before but now not.
When editing the article, I saw it lost translation in the transaction table! So in the English version on the page, it displays the Bosnian version of the text.

There's a big chance that this is a compatibility issue between this "timeline" plugin and the latest version of our plugin.

I tried to duplicate the default-language post to see if when I translate it, the same thing will happen.

And yes, the same thing happened:

I will need your written approval to be able to duplicate your site using a plugin called "Duplicator" and test your site in a testing environment so can you please let me know if this is ok with you?

After we find the solution for this, the duplicated site will be deleted.
